Pineapple Cheese Ball

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2009
Was so happy to see this cheese ball recipe. I made this exact cheese ball over 30 years ago (received from co-worker) several times, then misplaced recipe. Will be making it over the holidays. Thanks so much!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2009
Thought it was really tasty. Didn't change a thing. Cooked biscuits one hour. Very simple recipe. I've made a lot of dumplings over the year with flour, salt white pepper as we like them fluffy but with just 2 of us now, I find this much easier.

Salmon Broccoli Bake

I made this a couple days ago and it was really delicious. I am always searching for salmon recipes and this is a keeper. There is nothing I would change about the recipe at all. Family truly enjoyed also!

Peanut Butter and Pumpkin Dog Treats

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2009
Thank you so much for this wonderful recipe. My daughter & g'daughters dogs as well as ours LOVE these treats, so much healthier for them that the type you buy in the store. I did use 1/2 cup peanut butter and used a full can of pure pumpkin, also added 1/2 cup of applesauce. These are a definite hit with my Chihuahua; she begs for them and ignores her Yip Yaps now.

Light and Fluffy Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2009
My family really enjoyed this quiche. I added a jar of artichoke hearts and fresh mushrooms plus chives. Very good! Addendum: 5/10/09: Making again today for a Mothers Day get together. I wanted to add that I mixed all ingredients together and did so again today (I did not layer). My granddaughter and daughter have also made this recipe and love it. I, too double the recipe using 3 (very full)deep dish pie crusts. YUM!

Corn Casserole I

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2009
I made this for New Years Day dinner at my granddaughters. Everyone there loved it. I discovered after it was about half way baked that I had left out the onions (still sitting on the bar)..it was great without the onions and my g'daughter was happy as she doesn't like onions anyway. I will be making this recipe for most family meals from here on, a definite hit with our many family members. Addendum: 5/10/09...making a double recipe again today and included the onions...my cousins, friends are all making this great recipe. I do add another 1/2 cup of extra sharp cheddar cheese, otherwise it is all the same. Best corn casserole ever!!!

Chocolate Gravy II

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2006
I made this for hubby who has told me for several years about his Mom's great chocolate gravy. Although I used skim milk and Domino (less sugar), he said it tasted like his Moms. He ate this a.m. over pancakes. Thanks for the recipe!

Cabbage Rolls II

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2006
This is pretty much a standard cabbage roll recipe and very good; however, I used petite diced tomates (24 oz. can plus added water) rather than tomato sauce as I'm not fond of the tomato sauce taste. I also mixed sausage doubling the recipe (I've also used ground venison to fix c rolls but not this time), also added garlic salt as we love garlic in this house. Cooked in 1/2 the time on high in my large slow cooker.

Roast Leg of Lamb with Rosemary

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2006
This is a great recipe, my family totally enjoyed it today...Easter Sunday. I did add olive oil and balsamic vinegar to the marinade as it stretched it some. I also placed the lamb and marinade in an oven bag and marinated overnight, then roasted in the bag for about 2 hours and 15 minutes at 350 degrees, very, very tender, very moist. I don't like my lamb pink but do like it tender so opted for the slower roasting. This is definitely a keeper recipe.

Summer Squash Casserole with Nuts

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2005
Prepared today without the sugar, saw no need for it. Made as is except I doubled for my crowd and did add another 1/2 cup sharp cheddar cheese. The only change I would make when preparing again would be to not mash the squash; I believe it would be tastier non-mashed.

Amaretti

Made these yesterday for my granddaughter's Italian dessert project at school. I love macaroons anyway but these are delish and so easy to make. The only thing I added was to place 2 slivered almonds on top of each cookie before baking.

Cola Pot Roast II

Reviewed: May 12, 2005
This is a fantastic roast recipe. So very tender and delish. I used whole package of brown gravy mix (had 4.5 lb. chuck roast) and 14 oz. of regular Coke. Makes one understand the true meaning of "things go better with Coke." Definitely a 5 star.
