Buttery Corn Bread

This recipe is a keeper! A 9x13 pan of 2-inch high, moist, buttery corn bread went perfectly with chili and a salad. Thanks for sharing!

Sloppy Joes II

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2011
My family liked this recipe. I thought simmering for 30 minutes seemed a bit too long as there wasn't much sauce and the mixture seemed a bit dry, so I simmered about 15 minutes. I used both green and red peppers and they seemed a little crunchy -- maybe that's why it should simmer for 30 minutes? This recipe is a great alternative to using canned Sloppy Joe sauce.

Anniversary Chicken I

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2011
I didn't think this dish tasted as good as it looked. The chicken had no flavor. Maybe it should have been marinated in the Teriyaki sauce for a few hours? I also think I would have preferred real bacon bits instead of the imitation variety. I will try again, but next time, I will either pound out the chicken so it's thinner (or use chicken cutlets), and I will use real bacon.

Excellent! Just try not to think about the calories! This recipe tastes like a loaded baked potato. I will definitely make it again. Thanks!

This is one of my all-time favorites! I make them frequently and they ALWAYS get rave reviews. I prefer to coat them with white chocolate. These freeze well in an air-tight container. Just take them out as you need them.

Egg and Sausage Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2010
This was very good ~ I will definitely make it again! I made a few minor changes: I pressed my crescent rolls on the bottom and a little bit up the sides of the pan, I added 1/2 cup milk to the egg mixture, and I baked for about 30 minutes at 350 degrees. There is a TON of cheese in this recipe. I think I'll try less cheese and more egg next time, along with turkey sausage, for a healthier version.

Easy Sausage Strata

This recipe has become a holiday breakfast tradition in our home. It makes Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas mornings so much nicer! I prepare the night before and all I need to do in the morning is bake it. If I were to make a change to this recipe, I might add some sauteed peppers and onions.

Pumpkin Casserole

This recipe is delicious and so easy to make! Tastes almost like warm pumpkin pie, without the crust. Makes a great side dish. My family keeps asking for it. Try it with your Thanksgiving dinner!

Cinnasweet Pumpkin Seeds

These were very good. A nice change from the savory seeds I always make. I had half the seeds, so I used a little less margarine, but all of the remaining ingredients. Very tasty!

Scalloped Potatoes II

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2010
I made this dish to go with our Easter ham. As many others have written, the taste is a bit on the bland side. However, potatoes were perfectly cooked and the creamy consistency of the sauce was great. If you add a little more salt and/or pepper, it can be very tasty! I will definitely make this again.

Pretzel Turtles

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2009
This recipe is so quick and easy and, not to mention, delicious! I use Rolo candies and bake at 275 for 4 minutes. I sometimes use peanut M&Ms in place of the pecan halves as they add seasonal colors during the Holidays, while keeping a nutty crunch. These turtles make a great gift ~ put some in a cellophane bag with a ribbon ~ attach the recipe to if you wish.

Very good! The Parmesan topping gives the fish an excellent flavor. I also like that this dish can be made in minutes. I served it with couscous (another very quick dish to cook) and a broccoli. Yum!

This recipe was very good. I didn't use the hot sauce as my family doesn't like spicy food. I added Parmesan cheese for extra flavor. It tasted even better the next day.

Sweet, Sticky and Spicy Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2009
Delicious! I was looking for a different way to cook chicken and I found it with this recipe. I followed some of the other reviewers' suggestions and coated the chicken with flour before browning. (I cut the chicken into bite-size chunks too.) I also doubled the sauce and heated it separately before combining it with the chicken. This sauce is very tasty and it really sticks to the chicken so every bite is so flavorful. I didn't have garlic or ginger, so I used the powdered variety. The whole family loved it and asked that I make it again. It's a keeper!

Juicy Roasted Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2008
Juicy and very tasty!! This was the first time I ever roasted a whole chicken. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to cook on a rack in the roasting pan, but I did. I added a few changes as I was feeling a bit creative. I filled the cavity with garlic cloves, onions and carrots and put extra onions, carrots and celery in the bottom of the pan with some white wine. I poured melted butter over the top of the chicken and then put it in the oven to bake. I basted the chicken every 30-60 minutes while baking. It was moist and very tasty! I served the chicken with two side dishes from this website: Pumpkin Casserole and Jamie's Cranberry Spinach Salad. Yummy!!

Raspberry and Almond Shortbread Thumbprints

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2008
These cookies are delicious. I must have made my cookies too large because I ended up with 2 dozen instead of the 3 dozen that the recipe yields. At first, I had trouble working with the dough, but the warmth of my hands made it easier to work with. You just need to hold the dough and work with it for a few extra seconds. If the dough cracked when I put my thumbprint in it, I picked up the dough and tried it again. They came out beautiful. I made several kinds of cookies for Christmas this year, and these were the first ones to disappear.
