About this Cook
I quit my job 3 years ago. At that time, I was still cooking "out of a box". Having a little more time on my hands, I came to this site at the recommendation of a friend. My family now eats something new at least once a week!! And I rarely cook from a box anymore!!!
My favorite things to cook
I love chicken!!! Some of my favorite recipes to try are different chicken recipes!!! When the cooking bug really really really strikes, I enjoy making homemade pierogies.
My favorite family cooking traditions
As a child, i wasn't really allowed to cook. For holidays, my mom refuses to give up the cooking. Now that I'm a mom, I encourage my little boy to help out in the kitchen as much as he likes! I also talk to my food while I'm cooking(yes, I talk to it) Emiril Lagasse is my hero!!!
My cooking triumphs
Hmmmm....I've had many of those!!! I'm a horrible candy maker. So the first time I made fudge and it actually got fudgy, I was on top of the world!! Fudge is about the only candy I may right even to this day. lol. Still learnin'.
My cooking tragedies
*blushes*A couple years ago, I was boiling water to make Easter Eggs with my son. I am usually a clean as you go cook, but apparently, I was feeling airheaded. I had forgotten about a bit of mayo being dropped on one of my burners the night before. So here I am, boiling water for eggs, and my stove catches fire. lol. how many people can say they make boiling water catch fire? We still get a good laugh at that one today, and I prepare nothing involving mayo on my stove top anymore. lol

Baked Sesame Chicken
I'm giving this a 3 because of the differences in tastes in my family. I hated this. I ate one bite and just didn't like it. My son and fiance loved it, however. I will make it again for them.

CRISCO(R) Chicken Enchiladas
These were good, not outstanding, but good. Easy to make, and I'd make them again.

Sadie's Longboy Cheeseburgers
These weren't bad. My fiance thought they were really good, I thought they were okay. I'll probably make them again for a quick easy dinner.
