After emigrating from the UK in '97, I lived in Calgary, Alberta with my husband and daughter. In 2004, when Calgary became toooo busy, we drove right across the country to settle in Nova Scotia. We have a lovely house and plenty of space and fresh air. We have just opened as a Bed and Breakfast (www.barnwoodinn.ca). I love organic gardening and hope to take a course to further this interest. Coming from the UK, baked goods and desserts figure prominently in my recipe favourites. My family's cooking tradition consists of soggy veg, overdone meat and lumpy gravy ! (With the odd successful sponge cake). Not much to live up to. I love cooking for dinner parties, whether it is buffet-style or sit down. It's such a compliment when guests ask you to share your recipes. Bread seems to be a challenge that I can't consistently master.
