About this Cook
Thirty-some-thing landlord/painter/plumber/landscaper. Doesn't sound to fancy, but is very fulfilling:)
My favorite things to cook
STEAK- Huge thick Porter House. One pounder Prime Rib. Thick Tenderloins...I'm starting to drool here!
My favorite family cooking traditions
All the women gathering in the kitchen to clean up dishes after family dinners. It is always so fun to talk about how everyone made each dish. Not to mention the gossip:)
My cooking triumphs
Corn Pudding. It has taken me many years to perfect this recipe. It is one that each family member begs for, but I refuse to give out:) There are somethings best kept secret! Apple Pie. It took me even longer to get this one just right. It was always too much not enough of this or that!
My cooking tragedies
I can not cook a fozen pizza! I've tried it umpteen times and it burns to a cinder each time I put it in the oven. Of course I just think I subcontiously dislike pizza and there for I sabotage it with out even knowing it.

Grandma's Corn Pudding
Very good corn pudding recipe. If you do not have the corn starch, use all purpose flour instead.

Grandma VanDoren's White Bread
EXCELLENT all around sandwich bread! This is my second attempt at making bread with my new mixer and I am so pleased with how this turned out! The inside is tender and moist while the crust is absolutely perfect! I can honestly say this is the best all around bread recipe I have ever used! I followed the recipe to a tee after down sizing it to 1/3 all with absolutely no problem what so ever.
