Crab Quiche I

Really good! Tastes best piping hot out of the oven, yum. It definitely needs the kick of cayenne or hot sauce, and I'm thinking it might be good with a few squeezes of lemon juice as well.

Acorn Squash Gnocchi with Parmesan Sage Beurre Blanc

This was very good! It was my first time making gnocchi, and it did take much more time than I planned. My squash had to be cooked in the microwave longer than 10 minutes (I took it out after 10, and it was still hard in the middle, put it in for probably another 10). I didn't use the "sage beurre blanc" but instead made a browned butter sage sauce. Yummy!

Mexican Cookie Rings

Okay, I thought this recipe sounded really easy and fun, so I decided to make them. My problem was that they were too sticky to roll up and then make a hole. I had to add a bunch of flour and then it was still kind of difficult. However, I think maybe I didn't beat the mixture long enough, so I think it was my fault. But still they were pretty good and I liked them. I think the first bite is a little bland but after the second bite they taste buttery and good. My sisters didn't really like them that much, but that's because they're addicted to sugar. :)

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

This meatloaf was pretty good. I made it for lunch one day when I really didn't have anything in the house. So I decided to try it. I liked the sweetness of it, but it did start to get kind of...runny, I would say. That's probably not the best word to use...but anyway, I think that only happened because I'm not used to making meatloaf and I don't really think I put it together like I was supposed to. Overall, it was good and I think whatever was wrong with it was my fault.

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

These pancakes are yummy! They have a really good, I'm not even sure how to say it...kind of buttery, savory taste. I've made them twice now, the first time I left out some salt and added a little vanilla and cinnamon. The second time I left all the salt in and added no vanilla but more cinnamon. Both times the pancakes were really good...I guess you can pretty much add whatever you want and it still tastes good!
