About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
I like to try new things. Soups, stews, and comfort food in the wintertime....Grilling, salads, mexican, italian....
My cooking triumphs
Last year was the year of the bird....I roasted my first turkey for Thanksgiving, baked pheasants wrapped in bacon, and began a new tradition of roast duck for Christmas.
My cooking tragedies
I made a cake from scratch once that actually had to be dumped in the woods outside. I've not tried that since.

Mexican Sour Cream Rice
I liked this recipe, but mine turned out a little dry even though I added more sour cream and salsa. The taste was good, and if not for the dryness, we would have liked it much better. Nice side dish for taco night.

Best Ever Blueberry Cobbler
This is a great recipe. My husband and I picked some wild blueberries while 4-wheeler riding; and I used them for this. The topping was like cake...we really liked it and will make again.

Crispy Potato Wedges
I thought these were great. I used seasoning salt, and they did stick to my aluminum foil a bit, but I didnt think it was a big deal.
