Classy Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2009
My husband did NOT like this at all. My daughter wouldn't eat it either. I think the sour cream ruined it. Next time, I might stick with the 'regular' recipe and add some ritz with the french fried onions though. I liked that part.

Grandma's Corn Bread Dressing

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2009
I really enjoyed this, but I do like sausage in my cornbread stuffing. We had to add more stuffing than the recipe called for. 3 cups just wasn't enough. And I tamed down the sage a bit.

These are really sweet and they do make a lot. I love sweet things, but these were average to me.

Busy Day Chicken

My mom used to make this for us when we were little. The only difference is she used the whole cut up chicken so she didn't have to pull it apart. Very messy, but very good.

Fluffy Whole Wheat Biscuits

Reviewed: May 24, 2009
These were good. I usually use canned dough because I'm not much of a bread baker, but I was able to make these with no troubles and they were tasty. I might add more butter next time though. Oh, and I didn't have wheat flour, so I used all white flour.

Shrimp with Penne and Squash

This isn't bad. Needs more salt, but is a decent choice if you are trying to watch your diet. I will make it again, but not all the time.

This was great! I used enchilada sauce instead of taco sauce. If you like it really spicy, try the hot style Rotel and the hottest enchilada sauce you can find!

Excellent! I added shredded carrots to the cabbage mix and omitted the sherry. MMM!

Ultimate Spicy Spud Soup

This is good and spicy! I changed it up a bit by using pre cut potatoes from the freezer section and adding more cayenne. We like it hot at our house! Quick and good, especially in for winter.

This is not good at all. I am from Texas and we don't eat salad dressing like that. Sorry. :(

This soup is good to make and then freeze the rest in a gallon ziplock for later. (Lay flat to freeze to save space)

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: May 4, 2003
This is a good cookie recipe, but it wasn't my all time favorite. Cookies are such a personal thing, and these were firm and more cake like. They make very pretty cookies, but I was looking for a more original flavor. You can't go wrong by making them for anyone, so if you need a good recipe, this one will work!

Grilled Halibut II

I consider this a 'safe' recipe. No raves, no boos. If I make this again, I will use salt. This recipe lacks zest. I am not sure what spices it needs, but it needs something to liven it up.

Grilled Portobello Mushrooms

These were good, but balsamic vinegar is extremely powerful, and I would use much less than the recipe called for. Perhaps 1 tbs or omit it entirely. You can substitute vinegar for some onion powder and seasoned salt.

Spinach and Pine Nuts

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2003
I didn't really care for this recipe. I may have overcooked the spinach, but I wasn't sure if I was supposed to use 2 skillets. The directions are a bit confusing since they say to wilt the spinach then heat the oil and add the spinach. I wasn't sure if that meant in another skillet or not. Hmmm. Anyway, I would've added salt.
