I made these exactly as stated. They were amazing! After one bite, my husband asked me to make them again. Thanks for a keeper!

Creamy Horseradish Garlic Spread

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2009
This is a delicious and simple recipe to throw together. I generally have all the ingredients on hand. I made it as a dip for crackers and veggies, but it has me wanting to grill some beef to dip in it! Thanks, Adzell, for a keeper! I will definitely make this again!

Crispy Potato Pancakes

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2009
These were very good. They could use a little bit more seasoning for my taste, but they turned out well. I did put the grated potatoes in cold water to keep them from turning color. I drained well, pressing them into a mesh colander to remove the water, then added the seasonings.

Beer Battered Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2009
This was just okay for me. Others liked it more than I did, so I gave it four stars instead of three. It really was bland, despite seasoning as soon as I removed it from the oil. If I make this again, I will season the chicken, the flour, and the batter. I did let the batter rest about 30 min. before using.

Teriyaki Marinade with Ginger and Garlic

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2009
I used this marinade on sirloin steak kebabs. I marinated about 8 or 9 hours. I did pulverize the pepper flakes a bit before adding to the mixture to bring out the heat a little. I loved the result. I will definitely make these again!

Japanese Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2009
These were delicious - a nice change from traditional hot wings. I deep fried my wings in oil and dipped each one into the sauce before baking. I did pour the sauce over the wings and basted twice during baking. I will make these again!

Never-Ever-Fail Meringue

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2009
This recipe worked very well for me. I did not have a problem with shrinking or weeping - a first. I did have to increase the baking time to 20 minutes and the meringue was still very light brown.

Grandma's Lemon Meringue Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2009
I used this recipe for the filling only and followed the directions to a T. It was perfect as is. I didn't have any problems with runny filling. This is a keeper recipe that I will make again and again. Thanks!

Shrimp Scampi ala Norelllaura

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2009
This is a very good recipe, but the cooking time is a little off. The peppers don't need to cook for 20 minutes, and in that amount of time the garlic gets very dark. I agree with vegascook - too much flour. 1/4 cup would probably be enough to dust the shrimp. The next time, though, I may skip the dusting and just sprinkle some flour into the skillet to thicken the sauce.

Lemon Streusel Muffins

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2009
These muffins were delicious - very light and fluffy, as expected. The only change I made was to add the zest of one lemon to the batter. I did end up with 21 muffins when I filled the cups 2/3 full as directed. The next time I may try adding a touch of butter to the topping. I used pecans in my streusel and it was delicious, but didn't stay together (that's where the butter may help). Thanks for a delicious recipe!

Seven Spiced Shark Steaks

I cut the spices in half to make this a more liquid marinade for grilling. I give this four stars because had I left all the spices in, it would have been very overpowering.

Roasted Broccoli

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2009
The combination of spices on these veggies was very good, but there was simply too much spice, and I like spice. I wanted to "go with my gut" when I made these and cut the spices back. Next time I will cut back. Thanks for a tasty recipe.

Cut-Out Cookies in a Flower Pot

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2009
I didn't put my cookies in a flower pot, since I was making pigs for my second grade class (Charlotte's Web theme), but I may try that at some point. These cookies were delicious. They tasted much like those famous smiley cookies. I used frosting and fondant on them, and even after setting overnight, they were still soft and delicious!

Marshmallow Fondant

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2009
Well, after reading LTH's review of this fondant, I'll just say - yep. It's that easy. This was also my first attempt at fondant. I only needed cutouts to make pig ears, eyes, and snouts. I kneaded with my KA mixer and took out some white fondant before adding the pink gel coloring. For the ears I cut triangles out with a knife, then curled and formed them on waxed paper. I let them dry and added them to the frosted cookies. I will definitely use this recipe again! Thanks Kiele!

Citrus Quencher

This recipe was delicious. I was out of club soda an substituted lemon-lime soda. It made it a little sweeter, but it was still delicious. Gingerale would work well in a pinch, too.

Mango Lassi II

Reviewed: May 31, 2009
This was good. I'm not sure what I was expecting as I've never had Lassi before. I actually liked it even better after it sat for a while. I may try vanilla yogurt the next time, as I think the vanilla flavor would work well with the fruit.

Todd's Famous Blueberry Pancakes

Reviewed: May 31, 2009
Perfect recipe as written. I only let mine sit for 1/2 an hour, but I don't think that really affected the outcome. Just the right amount of sweetness. I may actually increase the blueberries the next time, though, just because I love blueberries!

Felix K.'s 'Don't even try to say these aren't the best you've ever eaten, because they are' Chocolate Chip Cookies

My family loved these. They said they reminded them of bakery cookies. I actually found the dough to be a little crumbly until I squeezed it into the ball (I also used large eggs). I'm sure I'll be making them again.

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Reviewed: May 31, 2009
I used raspberry jam and added quartered green grapes and blueberries (just because I had them - but they were my favorite part!)I also used the suggestion of stacking the tortillas after spraying, then cutting (with a pizza wheel), and shaking in a bag of the cinnamon/sugar mixture. Everyone loved this salsa!

Patriotic Trifle

Reviewed: May 31, 2009
This was easy, delicious, and low-fat. I added extra fruit, as the stated amounts didn't really completely cover the layer of cake. Taking time to arrange the cake cut (white) side out really makes a beautiful presentation!
