For those of you  who have been asking about the snowman cookies, I only WISH I could take the credit for the idea.   It's from Stacey's Sweet Shop. Stacey wrote a four-part blog showing how it's done, and I followed it to the letter.   Here are my pictures of the MORE

About this Cook
I have three sons, ages 14, 12, and 10, who are very picky eaters (especially the middle one). Their favorite meal is a bowl of buttered pasta. I try to cook things that they might enjoy trying, but they're not always willing to try new things. My oldest is getting better. He actually eats real food much of the time now! In my spare time I teach second grade. I have introduced my students to cooking and/or new foods over the years. We've even baked cakes in my roaster right in the classroom!
My favorite things to cook
I love to try all sorts of new recipes, so I don't really have a favorite thing to cook. I go in phases, really. I've been doing more cupcake and cake decorating lately. I'll try almost anything if I think my family will eat it.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love making the pumpkin pies and other desserts for Thanksgiving. I always like to try one new dessert for each holiday. Baking Christmas cookies is a tradition that goes back as long as I can remember.
My cooking triumphs
I've made some pretty cool cakes for my boys' birthdays. They include a firetruck, baseball, football, and Pokeball. I've also used shaped pans to decorate everything from Barney and Elmo, Power Ranger, Jeff Gordon's #24 racecar, a dog and dog house, and most recently, a monkey and a penguin. One of my best triumphs has been teaching my boys to cook. They'll never go hungry.
My cooking tragedies
The first time I cooked a turkey I relied on my thermometer to tell when it was done. It wasn't.

Dietetic Banana Nut Muffins
Hello? This recipe has the word "NUT" in the title, but there are no nuts whatsoever mentioned in the recipe. That's easily remedied, though - I threw in 1/3 cup chopped, toasted pecans and stuck one on the top of each muffin. They rose up beautifully, and tasted very good, but stuck to the paper liners terribly. I think the Splenda is the cause of this - when using another muffin recipe from the Splenda web site, the directions included spraying the paper liners with cooking oil spray. The papers come off the muffins perfectly. I will try this trick the next time I use this recipe.

BAKER'S Chocolate and Mocha Sweethearts
These turned out great. I didn't have the powdered coffee mix on hand, so I had to modify the recipe slightly. I used half white and half brown sugar. This made a nice, dense brownie - just right for dipping in the chocolate. I dipped the top and sides in chocolate, then drizzled with melted pink and red candy wafers. They were a big hit!

Amazing Pecan Coffee Cake
This is, without a doubt, the best coffee cake I've ever eaten. I used margarine simply because I found myself out of butter (what?), but I think I will make this substitution again because I can't imagine this cake could be any better. This will definitely be made again and again. It is truly amazing! Thanks for a great recipe!
