Caramel Macchiato Cheesecake

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2011
Great flavor, but even though I followed the recipe exactly, it was over-baked. Next time I will lower the temp by at least 50 degrees and try a waterbath.

Crunchy Oven Fried Tilapia

My kids and I enjoyed this last night. I did spray the top-side of the fish with cooking spray so it would brown a bit (that worked nicely). Thanks for the recipe.

Asian-Inspired Honey-Vanilla Chicken

This was quite excellent, despite my misgivings about the vanilla. I will make it again!

Chicago Dip

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2009
All this was eaten, but it isn't quite as good as the recipes that call for Vegetable Soup Mix and water chestnuts. After making as stated, I ended up adding cayenne, garlic powder, onion powder and other spices to enhance the flavor. The end result was good, but not the best. Still, I think this is a solid recipe if you don't like more highly-flavored foods.

Jalapeno Popper Spread

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2008
Oh My Gosh! This tastes soooo good cold; I can't wait to heat it up for my party this afternoon. After tasting, I added the entire 4 oz of diced jalapenos to kick up the heat. Incredible! The flavor is even better than my homemade poppers (which I thought was impossible). Great recipe -- thanks! UPDATE: Just as good hot. This mellowed incredibly in fridge overnight. Awesome recipe.

I made this for a late Christmas party I'm holding for friends. It looks awesome and tastes great, too. I can't wait to serve it.

Gingerbread Biscotti

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2008
This is one of the five biscotti recipes I used this year at Christms. People loved the gingerbread flavor, especially my husband and father. A friend of mine from Germany was also delighted with the flavor. I was unable to find whole wheat flour in my small town grocery store, so I used regular, but the cookies didn't suffer. Next time I make these, I'll go a bit farther afield so I can make them as the recipe dictates. Thanks for sharing this recipe.

Biscotti

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2008
What a simple, lovely recipe. The texture was perfect -- I made five different biscotti recipes this year at Christmas, and this one turned out best. Because none of my family care for anise, I used real almond extract instead. The flavor was delicate and the texture was crisp. Awesome!

Southern Sweet Potato Bread with Pecans

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2008
Excellent, moist and flavorful. This is indeed better after sitting overnight. I made a double batch and baked one as a loaf, and the other as muffins. The muffins baked in 20 minutes and were delicious. I left out raisins for the sake of my family's taste and added in a bit of ginger for my own. Thanks for a great recipe!

Caramel Apple Jam

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2008
This jam tastes divine. I made two batches; one yesterday, one today. For the firt batch, I ran the apples through my food processor, and decided to forgo the spices in favor of a more caramelly flavor. For the second batch, I diced the apples as directed and used the spices. I'm not sure what happened, but the first batch set up wonderfully and tasted delicious. However, the second batch remained syrupy, though I followed the recipe more exactly. I'm not sure why, but jam is like that sometimes! Still, even though it didn't set up, that second batch is going to be a delicious syrup for pancakes, so it won't be wasted. Thanks for a great recipe.

Sweet and Sour Meatballs I

I make little smoky cocktail sausages in the same sauce and they are delicious. Denise, grape jelly is like grape jam made from juice instead of whole or pureed fruit. I bet you're from the UK or Australia? Good recipe!

Cake Mix Cookies VIII

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2008
My daughters had a sleepover last night and this was the recipe I chose for them to make themselves because there were only a few ingredients. WOW! I didn't expect much, but these were absolutely awesome. The cookies, once they cooled, were moist and chewy and delicious, reminiscent of the old "Grandma's Cookies" brand, but without the odd aftertaste. They were sweet, but had just enough of a salty flavor from the cake mix to offset the sweetness. Semi-sweet chocolate chips made the cookies rich and wonderful. I've made countless homemade double chocolate chip cookie recipes, but this one is the tops, and we'll make it again and again. Thanks for a great recipe!

I was out of taco seasoning and wanted to make slow cooker chicken taco soup from this site - one reviewer suggested Bill Echols' taco seasoning. I made it and used it, and loved it. No more seasoning packets for me!

Crustless Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2008
This is a great recipe. I've made it several times and I love that it always turns out, regardless of how you tweak it. Today, I used swiss rather than gruyere, and added thinly sliced cauliflower and jalapeno pepper, sauteed with the onion and spinach. It was excellent. I also like to add ham and fresh mushrooms. Thanks for a great low carb recipe!

Peanut Butter Cake II

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2008
Loved it! My family all love peanut butter, so this was a surefire winner here. I only made one change to the frosting, and that was one cup less sugar and a little more heavy cream -- I confess to not measuring it! I garnished with chopped Reese's Cups, but I really think this would have been better without the chocolate. The peanut butter is definitely the star of this show. Thanks for an awesome recipe.

Shrimp and Mushroom Linguini with Creamy Cheese Herb Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2008
Excellent -- I did leave out more than half of the butter; just couldn't bring myself to add that much, but it would have been better with it. I'll add onions and spinach next time, but this was great without them.

Traditional Reuben Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2008
Fabulous! I scaled the recipe to six servings, but that was the only change made, other than using those round rye and pumpernickel loaves rather than pre-sliced bread. This was awesome, I cannot heap enough praise on this recipe. My seven year old wouldn't eat it, but all the rest of us loved it. I will make this again and again. I also think it would make a killer dip, with the corned beef shredded and all the filling baked in a round pumpernickel loaf and served with toasted party rye rounds. My compliments to your husband's aunt, Aveyed, and to you for passing this along.

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

We loved this recipe -- I put it together within 10 minutes before I left for work, and when I got home, I shredded the chicken and simmered it until supper. Delicious and so easy.
