About this Cook
I'm 30-something years old and have been cooking for as long as I can remember. I started off baking with my mother, then moved on to cooking meals. I'm constantly on the lookout for new recipes to keep things interesting for the kids & I - so far, they've tried most everything I've cooked and more often than not, like it! I love to feed other people and get their opinions about my new recipes - I hardly ever cook the same thing twice.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook things in the crock-pot and any kind of dessert. I'm partial to recipes that are quick and fairly easy.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter are all big meals for us and they're all special to me in different ways. Food plays a big part in our celebrations - from appetizers to the main meal, we love good food! And we always have too much of it!
My cooking triumphs
I made roast lamb for Easter a few years ago using a recipe on here that was UNBELIEVABLY good - I had never cooked lamb before, so I was really excited about how delicious it turned out! I've made it since and it's still delicious.
My cooking tragedies
Not a cooking tragedy, but an embarrassment. I was helping my mother prepare the turkey one Thanksgiving and she wanted me to take out the bag of giblets. We were straining and struggling, trying to pull the bag out the tiny opening and couldn't figure out why the opening was so small - needless to say, we weren't going at it from the *neck*, where you're supposed to be. That's right - I had my hand up the turkey's behind.

Cashew Crusted Chicken
I made this with Panko bread crumbs instead of cashews and it was still really good. Loved the sauce - I did add a bit more curry than it called for because I love the flavor.

Cranberry Muffins
Delicious as is - light and fluffy. Just a hint of nutmeg. Love this recipe - thanks!

Jayme's Cole Slaw
The dressing for this coleslaw is REALLY good - love the celery seed in it. I put a variety of vegetables in it (cabbage, carrots, radishes - whatever's around) and the dressing makes it delicious. I may try it with broccoli and cauliflower pieces! Thanks!
