Cream of Asparagus Soup I

Reviewed: May 21, 2006
I loved this recipe, although I did make a few slight adjustments. I used butter instead of margerine. I used 4 cups broth instead of water, chicken flavored salty cubes, and condensed broth. I didn't have white pepper so I just used the black. I also reserved all the tips and sauted them and placed them in the center of the soup bowls as a garnish, it looked so fine.

Overnight Bubble Bread

Reviewed: May 21, 2006
Quick, Easy, Delicious! I doubled the nuts(on purpose) and doubled the sugar/butter (on accident.) Anyways I will make this again. I also used cook and serve pudding. I cooked only nine in an 8x8 dish. Right after preparing it looks like there will be dry pudding, but after sitting on the counter all night the pudding dissolves and the rolls rise. After cooking I inverted them onto a serving platter, they slid out of the dish easily (I sprayed it with pam before preparing)Very presentable.

Oven Fried Parmesan Chicken

Reviewed: May 19, 2006
Yummy! I made exactly as stated, but used Italian bread crumbs and 4 large chicken breast cut into nugget sized pieces. It took only 25 minutes to bake, with my small chicken pieces. Yummy! Whole family loves it!

Broccoli With Lemon Almond Butter

Reviewed: May 19, 2006
This was good. The only changes I made were to leave out the zest and to toast my slivered almonds (I didn't measure, but it was a 2 oz bag of almonds)My two kids picked out the almonds and my husband said the almonds tasted like peanut butter, but I liked the toasted flavor with the broccoli.

Lemon Syllabub

Reviewed: May 19, 2006
I htought this was ok. My two children thought it was disgusting and my husband tasted it and turned his nose up to it. I ate mine and thought is was ok. I could only eat a little glass full. It would have been better without the wine, then again we aren't big wine drinkers. I most likely will not make again.

African Curry

Reviewed: May 17, 2006
This was a good curry. I chopped the tomatos up, and added the liquid (I didn't see the "drained" on the recipe). I also only added 1 tsp of lemon juice (and I couldn't taste it.) I used 3 chicken breasts, it is easier than deboning and skinning a chicken. I liked the amount of curry that was in the recipe, that way you could taste the coconut milk. Cayenne pepper might be a good addition, but it was still good without. Don't forget to serve over rice.

Cream Of Green Chile Soup

Reviewed: May 14, 2006
Another great soup recipe. Although it is not much to look at. I used fresh oregano and topped with fritos instead of tortillas. My kids 7 and 12, surprised me by eating it. I also topped with 1/2 mozzerella and 1/2 chedda, because that's what I had. Yum!

Cinnamon Bread I

Reviewed: May 14, 2006
My whole family liked this. I didn't have vanilla, so I omitted it. I also didn't have butter milk. so I used 1/2 milk and 1/2 light cream and about 2tsps of lemon juice. I seperated the dry and wet ingredients before mixing them together. I also tripled the topping. I put 1/2 the batter into the loaf pan and sprinked half the topping onto it, then repeated. I swirled the topping like stated, but I'm not sure that is a necessary step, because it just blends in anyways. Thanks

Jimmy Dean Maple Sausage Waffles with Cinnamon Apples

Reviewed: May 13, 2006
I give this 5 stars, because I liked it alot. But neither of my kids liked it. I made it exactly as stated, but left of the apple topping. It was great with syrup. My waffle iron, must of been on hi heat because it cooked very quickly and almost burned. The batter was very thick.

Fettuccini Carbonara

Reviewed: May 12, 2006
This was very good. I thought it was weird, not to cook the eggs, but it turned out well. I didn't have any shallots so I skipped that part, drained all the bacon grease, and used only half the noodles. I was great!

Cartoon Cake

Reviewed: May 12, 2006
I thought this was a great moist cake. I made it exactly as stated in a heart shaped pan. The only thing I would do differently next time is to used regular cherry filling on the top, instead of light, because I thought it had more of a diet taste and I am eating cake so I want the goodies.

Oatmeal Maple Syrup Muffins

Reviewed: May 7, 2006
Very good! First thing I did was get my liquid ingredients together, to soak my oats. I added only 1/2 tsp of salt. The only problem was I didn't hear my timer go off at 15 minutes so they cooked a little longer, but not much, because the didn't burn. They did sink in on the tops, but were still tasty!

Mom's Applesauce Pancakes

Reviewed: May 6, 2006
I just made these this morning and already have requests to make them again sometimes. After reading others reviews I used 1 1/4 cup applesauce and 1 1/2 tsp of cinnamon. It was a little thick, so I spread the batter and cooked on low for a while. Next time I may add about 1/4 cup more milk.

Make Ahead French Toast

Reviewed: May 5, 2006
I made the recipe exactly as stated, but I poured the rest of the egg mixture over the bread. It ended up with a good flavor. A little soggy the next morning, but my daughter loved it and keeps asking me to make it, (usually she doesn't like the things I cook.)I guess I will make again.

Apple Bacon Tomato Soup

Reviewed: May 1, 2006
Loved this recipe. I made exactly as written. I used a merlot for the wine. My husband watched me cooking the apples and when he saw me put them in the soup he had a disappointed look. But after tasting it, he said the soup would have just been plain old soup if not for the apples. He liked it. I also used more bacon, more like 10 slices. (and it wasn't too salty.) I also topped with shredded mozzarella cheese and had cream on the table for those who wanted a creamy soup.

Chicken Enchiladas I

Glad I tried this. I did not include the water, and I subbed enchilada sauce for the taco sauce. I also suated the onions first because I didn't want crunchy onions. I also topped with olives and green onions. Yummy!

Hungry Bear Pie

This was very good. My whole family liked it. My six year old son, made it by himself (with a little direction.) We needed to use extra large heaping 1/2 cups of applesauce in order to use up the filling.

Cream Of Herb Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2006
I love this! It was light and delicious. I did not add the sugar or the butter/flour mixture in at the end. It fit both my husband's and my diet. He does low fat and I just scooped his bowl full out before I added the cream. I added the cream for mine, which I do low carb and it didn't have sugar or flour, but it was still wonderful. One could probably double all the greens and make this just as good, but heartier.
