Tangy Dill Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2008
I made a few changes... I added chopped celery, chopped red onions instead of the green, I also added 2 hard boiled eggs, and sliced black olives. I poured the Italian dressing over the potatoes, mixed 1 tbs. lemon juice with the mayo, the Dijon mustard and dill. I had to add a little of the dried kind too. Added salt, freshly crushed black pepper and 1 tsp. sugar. I don't know if it's fair to rate it this way since I changed it so much due to personal taste... All I know is that it turned out great!

Banana Cream Supreme

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2008
Just amazing! I made this in under 6 minutes. I had baked two pie crusts and needed a quick recipe to utilize the remaining crust. I came across this recipe and had everything on hand so I went for it. I'm so glad I did. I turns out that everyone raved over this instead of the strawberry pie. Next time I'll try it with the Graham Cracker crust. This is a keeper for sure! Thank you MISSMOLLY!

Asparagus with Sliced Almonds and Parmesan Cheese

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2008
This was very good. It was a little bland. Needs salt, pepper and IMO also some garlic. But the almonds and Parmesan cheese made the dish!

Southern Grilled Barbecued Ribs

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2008
I was looking forward to this recipe. I feel a big let down. My ribs turned out tough. I've tried many rib recipes from this site. I like vinegar but there was way too much! The kids were saying it smelled bad. The sauce did not thicken, it was runny and bland. I think that seasoning the ribs, also maybe rapping them individually in foil would help the flavor and toughness issues. Sorry... I generally hate giving bad reviews. This one wasn't for us.

Sourdough Bread I

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2008
This is a very good recipe. Like others, my bread rose the second time just not enough. I let it rise for about 1 hour but it still didn't quite double. I thought the dough was great to work with and the loaves turned out beautiful. Not as sour as I'd prefer but maybe it was the starter too. I still would recommend it though.

Sourdough Starter I

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2008
Well, I'm giving this recipe the benefit of the doubt. Here is why: I followed the instructions exactly but it did not get as sour as I'd like, however, maybe it could have something to do with the bread recipe itself versus just the starter. I did make Becky's Sourdough Bread to go with my first try because I thought it would be best to pair the two the first go round. It was very good just not as sour as I'd like. Maybe like a previous reviewer said, it takes weeks?

Cream Cheese Squares

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2008
Easy and delicious. Very rich though. I think that I'd have to agree that two packages of cream cheese was a bit too much. However, if you are looking for a quick and easy dessert look no further.

Butterscotch Bread Pudding

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2008
IMO this should be called: "To Die For Butterscotch Bread Pudding". If I could give it more than 5 stars I certainly would. I am dumbfounded at how easy and delicious this recipe is. I used French Bread (day old) and followed the recipe to the "T". You are a genius Margaret! Thank you so much! :)

Homemade Crispy Seasoned French Fries

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2008
Wonderful seasoned fries. It was a little messy but the kids loved them. I used some seasoned salt in place of onion salt because I didn't have any and I added onion powder too. I fried them in Canola oil instead of vegetable oil. My daughter is still coming back for more. All I could hear was "yummy"! Thanks for a great recipe Cassie! :)

Montreal Peppered Steak

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2008
So easy and so wonderful. I had bought some Montreal seasoning and couldn't wait to try it out. Best few dollars I've spent in a while. We used it on Top Sirloin. It was just wonderful. I did make one change though. I added 2 tbs. A1 sauce to the marinade. It was superb!

Rosemary Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2008
Delicious! Such a delightful side dish for our steak dinner. I used some fresh rosemary from my garden but besides that I followed the recipe. I would only need to use more seasoning, salt & pepper next time. Thank you Kelly for sharing this wonderful recipe.

Alyson's Broccoli Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2008
I had a co-worker a long time ago bring a dish similar to this to our potluck. This is such a nice salad. It has so many different elements that complement one another. I didn't have any sunflower seeds so I toasted 1 pkg. of slivered almonds and it was great that way too. This is a keeper!

Slow Cooker Creamed Corn

Reviewed: May 26, 2008
Great creamed corn recipe! Very easy to make and the fact that it's made in the slow cooker is even better. I set mine for 8 hours so that the heat wouldn't be too intense. I think that there was just a bit too much butter. Next time I'll use less. Maybe I'll try decreasing the cream cheese a little too.
