Lap Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2009
I have had this recipe in my recipe box for two years. I didn't realize that I never reviewed it. It is great! I do the sesame oil instead of sesame seeds. I also marinate the chicken in some kind of asian dressing. I use the bag cole slaw instead of cutting up the cabbage myself. Always a winner at parties and get togethers.

Crispy Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2009
They are tasty light cookies but... The cooking time for me was too long, even for the 12 minutes. Also, the dough really needs to be refrigerated before rolling. It was unbelievably soft and sticky. I had to wash my hands off because the dough was just accumulating on my hands. I think refrigerating it for a few hours would solve this.

Whole Wheat Banana Nut Bread

Reviewed: May 3, 2009
My three kids all ate it so that earns a great review in itself! I added 1/2 cup choc chips instead of walnuts and used 1/3 cup almond meal with 1/3 less whole wheat flour. Added cinnamon and used applesauce instead of oil.

Flourless Chocolate Cake II

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2009
Yum Yum! I needed a recipe for a dessert with no flour and this fit the bill. My husband said it tasted as good as it smelled when it was cooking :) I changed the serving to 10 since I used the springfoam pan and it is 9". Did end up cooking it a little longer than the orig recipe by ~10 minutes.

Cream Cheese Squares

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2009
The comment on the recipe describes this perfectly. I will make sure to stock up on crescent rolls and cream cheese when they are on sale because this is an easy recipe to make when you have last minute guests etc... I did find that you don't need as much cream cheese as the recipe indicated but otherwise great recipe!

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

I have made various recipes every Thanksgiving and this one is the best by far. The buttermilk makes it nice and moist and the amount of sweet is great.

Sweet Potato Casserole II

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2008
This was delicious! I lost my old recipe so decided to give this a try. The topping is a great treat. My husband was disappointed at first when I was making sweet potatos without marshmallows on top. He loved this! Definitely will be saving this one!

V. good. I scaled it down using 1 pkg kielbasa, one smaller can of saurkraut almost a full bottle of beer and also cut up one apple. I did brown the kielbasa and threw in a bay leaf and a bit of mustard. V. good recipe

Quick Quiche

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2008
Easy and very good. The consistency of it was good, not drippy and it is good that there is not too much cheese. I did 2 of the 4 eggs using only the whites and used mostly skim for the milk. I omitted the bacon and did broccoli and mushrooms. Even with all the changes it was really good.

These turned out great. Nice and fluffy. It made 8 nice sized pancakes. Reminded my husband of the ones at IHOP and were very easy to make and used ingredients I had in the house.

Tina's Shortbread Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2007
I have used this recipe for three years. You can't mess it up. I add peanut butter chips with the chocolate, those swirled chips. I think using butter is important. Never substituted margarine. My 3 year old son and I just made a batch and will leave a few out for Santa on Christmas eve ;)

Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2006
This was delicious! I followed what others said and halfed the amount of butter. I also used those frozen garlic cubes which were great! I also did add less milk and one less egg. It came out great and not liquidy which I get sometimes with quiches.

Rugelach II

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2002
I followed the directions exactly and left the dough in the refrigerator for about 2 hours. When I took it out and tried to roll it, it wouldn't roll smoothly and started cracking (don't know what term to use). Didn't look pretty at all but tasted ok.
