Antipasto Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2012
Wonderful stuff! I used more like a 1/3 lb. on the meats but otherwise stuck to the recipe, so pretty served in my trifle bowl and a simple parsley garnish on top. Make this easy dish, people will think you fussed! Thanks for the great recipe, Dayna!

Zucchini Puffs

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2012
I loved these, the texture was superb. Based on other reviews I added 1/2 tsp. each of garlic and onion powders. The recipe halved nicely, since I'm the only one here to eat them now, and they still turned out beautifully. Puffy is the perfect description-you nailed it with their name, Anna B. Thanks for sharing, I'll make these again and again!

Potato, Bacon, and Corn Chowder

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2011
Wonderful, much like I make it, but I don't add the extra veggies. The canned corn, potatoes and bacon, plus the flour, butter and of course milk. A little seasoning of salt and pepper, sometimes a pat of butter and all set! So simple, so comforting, so delicious!!

Cream Cheese Kolacky

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2009
I've been making cream cheese Kolacky over 40 years and this recipe is perfect as is, however I make a much larger batch using a lb. of butter, lb. of cream cheese, 4 cups flour and a couple tsp. of vanilla. I also make a walnut filling instead of preserves by grinding a lb. of walnuts or pecans and mixing with 1 1/4 cups sugar and two beaten egg whites. Like another reviewer I also roll them out on a liberal dusting of powdered sugar in lieu of dusting them with it. It carmelizes the bottom and adds yet another tasty dimension to an already scrumptious cookie. These proportions make plenty to share for Christmas gifts, but I must warn you-you will be asked to make them every year!! :)

Baked Asparagus with Balsamic Butter Sauce

I prepared this the way many others suggested using 1 tsp. of the soy sauce and 1 Tbs. of the balsamic vinegar. Oh it was soooo good! Thanks for the recipe, I will be having this often!!

Tater Tot Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2009
I love tater tot casserole, this recipe is much the same as mine, but I don't add ketchup. I also add a drained can of corn and a drained can of green beans for extra nutrition, and a 1/2 of milk mixed in to loosen it up and stretch the soup. MMMM MMMM Good!

Basic Ham and Bean Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2002
This is exactly how I use ham-hocks or leftover bones from those fancy spiral-cut hams! I even serve with cornbread, as stated in another review. J.A. uses the same ingredients I have always used (in a different proportion); except J.A. adds garlic-I might add some next time...This is an old recipe and my Mom always called this dish Navy Beans-although I don't know why...Thanks for sharing A.J.

Awesome Broccoli-Cheese Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2002
Wow! I hardly ever stray from my tried and true recipes for Thanksgiving, but I am glad I broke tradition and tried this casserole. It was so good it will be a new tradition at my feast every year from now on! Thanks for the recipe. UPDATE 2009 I wasn't kidding when I said I'd used this wonderful recipe again for the yearly Thanksgiving meal and as per usual I got the rave reviews and recipe request just as in the previous 6 years! I make this as written and it's perfect- no changes needed. Thanks again, Stacy, for a wonderful recipe that really has become a Holiday Tradition for us!
