Singapore Noodles

Reviewed: May 24, 2008
I liked this recipe. I did make a few changes to suit my family's taste and ingrediants I didn't have on hand. I didn't have any pork and it was fine without it. I only used one TBS of curry because it was a new taste for my kids and 1 TBS was plenty not sure I would have like it with 3. I added an extra clove of garlic and left out the celery because no one likes it around here. Thanks for sharing this was easy adn tastey.

Kim's Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: May 19, 2008
It has been years since I have made macaroni salad and I usually make the recipe off the Hellman's jar. This was good. I was a little concerned with the amount of vinegar in the sauce because it had an overpowering smell, but it gelled in the end and was fine. I only used 1/2 of a jalopeno because mine were HUGE, but I wish I had used the whole thing because for some reason when they are chopped up fine they are not that spicey. I think you have to make this several hours ahead so the flavors have time to mix and the sauce firms up. I will make this again. Thanks for sharing.

This was outstanding. I followed the recipe exactly with no changes. I did the marinade in the am and cooked it around 7 hours later. Perfect flavor that stayed with the meat. I will be making this again. Thanks for sharing.

I followed this recipe with all the ingrediants. I thought it was a little on the sweet side. I think I would cut the brown sugar in half. Thanks for the recipe.

Lemon Icing

Very nice taste. I needed to think it out with a little extra lemon juice though it was to stiff with just the 2 tablespoons. It is tastey and perfect for the lemon cake I made. Thanks-

Corn Dogs

Reviewed: May 11, 2008
I just made these. They are pretty tastey. I only had 7 hotdogs so I halved the batch, but I think I would have been better off using a full batch. It was hard to coat the last ones because there was not that much batter. Also, cooking on medium heat does the trick. It really minimizes grease splatter. Thanks for the recipe!

Awesome Baked Sea Scallops

Reviewed: May 10, 2008
I think there is a good base recipe here, but I felt there were some problems with this dish. Frist, I would have doubled the garlic. The amount of garlic called for was lost in the dish. I also would have added the garlic to the bread crumbs OR just not used the bread crumbs. I didn't think they added a thing to the dish and there was way to much. If I did the crumbs it would be cutting them way back to 1/4 or 1/2 C and replacing the olive oil with butter and adding garlic salt and pepper. It was easy and ready in a snap. Thanks for sharing.

Clams Kokkinisto

Reviewed: May 8, 2008
This is a lot like the base recipe I use when I make my own sauce. I think next time I'll use a 28oz can of whole tomatoes instead. I like the sauce consistancy you get with the whole. The diced I used had really big pieces of tomatoe that never really broke down and my family likes a smoother sauce. I also used 3 cans of clams, but I bought chopped instead of baby. It was fine, but I think next time I will use 4 or more cans. The volumne of tomatoes vs clams was a little off. Nice flavor and easy to make. Thanks for sharing. Oh, I thought the oregano amount was a little on the high side so I cut that in half. I'm not a beg fan of the herb.

Simple Mexican Rice

This was easy to make and had I not needed my big fry pan I would have put the lid on that and thrown it in the oven to save a dirty dish. I thought the flavor on this to be a little on the bland side. If I made it again I would add salt and peppar for sure. Thanks for sharing.

Roast Sticky Chicken-Rotisserie Style

Reviewed: May 4, 2008
So here is the deal. This does take some fore thought in order to make this. Got it prepared last night got into the oven this afternoon. I only made 1 chicken so maybe that was why the timing was off. It cooked in about 4 hours. It was good and it did not heat up my kitchen. I'm just not sure it is that much better than my usual recipe. Thanks for sharing.

Christmas Breakfast Casserole

Reviewed: May 4, 2008
I had some left over croissants that I needed to use so I decided to try this recipe since I had all of the ingrediants in my pantry. After reading the reviews I decided to add the milk one cup at a time until I got what I thought was the desired consistancy noting that after a night in the fridge most of the liquid should be absorbed by the bread. I ended up keeping all the ingrediants and measurements the same only cutting down the milk from 3 cups to 2 cups. This turned out perfect and it was easy and simple to make. I wondering if people end up with to much liquid because it calls for 7 slices of bread. I don't know about you, but 7 slices could leave you with different amounts of bread depending on the size of the slice, thickness ect. My guess is that if you got a runny mess there was not enough bread used. I used 7 croisssants which would have been more volumne than if I had used 7 slices of bread. Hope this helps. I'll be making this again and can see where you could add in a lot of different ingrediants to make this your own. Thanks for sharing.

Cabbage Roll Casserole

Reviewed: May 4, 2008
Talk about stretching a lb of ground beef! I cut this in half and it still made a huge amount. I love, love, love cabbage rolls, but no one else around here does. This is a good recipe, not great just average. I added a lot more salt and pepper than the recipe stated. I served mine with saurkraut and sour cream. It was easy and if you like cabbage rolls you'll probably be ok with this. Thanks for sharing.

Dirty Martini Cheese Spread

Reviewed: May 2, 2008
Make sure you don't serve this right after making it or the vodka will not be absorbed into the spread. It has a totally different taste after 2 hours and firms up. I love olives and dirty martinis so I thought this one would be a winner. It was ok. Half of my guests who loved olives thought it was good, but the ones who didn't forget it. I don't think I would make this again, but it was fun to try and very festive in a martini glass with an olive for a garnish. Thanks for sharing the recipe.

Lebanese Chicken and Potatoes

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2008
I certainly thought this was easy to make and tasted fine just nothing special. I did use 8 piece cut up chicken, but cut the potatoes down to 4. I barely got that in my largest baking dish. I'm not sure I would make this again, but the lemon flavor was nice, but the hot oven really warmed my kitchen up so this would be no go for me in the summer (I could probably cook outside it gets so hot!) Thanks for sharing.
