About this Cook
I'm a young professional and newlywed. I love to shop, read, cook, bake, host dinner parties and cocktail hour! I sometimes feel that I'm a few generations late as I'd love to make being the perfect housewife/hostess my full time job! I have always made appetizers & desserts for family events. I didn't really make actual meals until the last few years but am getting better everyday.
My favorite things to cook
Appetizers and desserts. I love tiny meals because I feel less guiltly for loving (and never denying myself) all things sweet and savory. I find new recipes constantly and give them a whirl. Most recently was Sushi! I was so proud when my first roll came together.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Authentic Mexican & Italian.
My cooking triumphs
My first thanksgiving meal, mainly my turkey, November of 2007 as a newlywed! I had my family over and a few different guests said that it was the best thanksgiving meal they've ever had!
My cooking tragedies
Pie crust. I've tried every trick under the sun and I cannot figure it out.

Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies II
Look no further! This is the PERFECT recipe for chocolate chip cookies. Don't change a thing and you WILL have perfect chocolate chip cookies. Depending on taste, you can leave them in the oven a few minutes longer for crispier cookies. They do not burn because of the shortening in the dough. You can underbake them by a minute or so if you want a "doughier" cookie. Toss your other recipes, especially the one on the choco-chip bag.

Two Ingredient Pumpkin Cake
this recipe is best made as pumpkin muffins! they are rich, delicious and best of all low fat and low cal. I just mix the cake mix, pumpkin and 1 tsp of pumpkin pie spice together until incorporated. With an ice cream scoop, scoop mixture into a sprayed, paper lined muffin tins. The mix should make 12 muffins. Bake @ 350 degrees for 17-19 minutes.

Apple Yam Casserole
I've made this recipe for three holiday seasons running. It is FABULOUS! I use golden raisins just because they are fatter, sweeter and much prettier in this dish.
