About this Cook
I like to experiment with new recipes. I recently made acorn squash risotto for the first time. It was a smash with my entire family who were visiting over Thanksgiving.
My favorite things to cook
I don't have a hands down favorite but right now I am learning to grill more than just burgers. It's nice to sit down to homemade fajitas that taste just like they were from a restaurant.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas brunch. We open presents and then sit down to the most wonderful array of foods. It is everyone's favorite meal of the year.
My cooking triumphs
Thanksgiving dinner for 15 people. I know, I know, Turkey is easy to make but it's intimidating when you have never done it before. My family loved it and now I host Thanksgiving almost ever year.
My cooking tragedies
We were moving and didn't have much food in the cooler. I threw some chicken and stuff together. It was green and tasted horrible. We went out for dinner that night.

Belles Hamburger Buns
Great recipe. I have made these several times but bigger. They are great with burgers, pulled pork and I have even used leftovers as garlic toast.

Graham Griddle Cakes
These are very tasty. My 1st grader loves to have one before school in the morning. I make them ahead of time, freeze them and then thaw one in the morning for breakfast. I like to serve them with honey butter.

Whole Wheat Honey Bread
I make this once a week for sandwiches. It is soft, tasty and has no high fructose corn syrup like most store bought brands. I use the dough cycle on my bread maker and then bake it in the oven. It comes out perfect every time.
