Super Duper Chocolate Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2008
Delicious cookie and very attractive. I used butter instead of shortening as I avoid transfat. They spread quite a bit when you use butter and you MUST use either a silpat mat or parchment paper or you lose 10% of the cookie when you take it off the baking tray.

Sugar Cookies X

Tasty and pretty. Only caveat is be aware these are not suitable for sugar cookie cut outs, even after chilling. They spread like crazy

Slow Cooker Beef Barley Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2008
Very disappointing. Really bland even though it smelled great while cooking. I even added a bay leaf and some italian seasoning out of desperation. I used stew meat, maybe I needed something fattier.....definitely not worth the time and effort if you like savory flavors in your food.

Salami Lover's Italian Pasta Salad

Reviewed: May 14, 2006
Nice change from the standard summer salads. Has a nice "bite" due to the garlic in the dressing and in the salami. Really popular with the guys. I would cut the cheese down to 1/2 a cup, add croutons and possibly some diced celery. This salad is best for in home parties, as it should be kept chilled due to the salami and caesar dressing.

Hot or Cold Vegetable Frittata

Reviewed: May 14, 2006
another rave review! I made this for mothers day, a big crowd. As hostess, I LOVE these mix and dump recipes. This one has the added benefit of looking really pretty if you thinly slice a large tomato and embed it into the wet mixture and bake. Looks party and shower pretty but so easy. I used asparagus and canned artichoke hearts. 9 eggs as earlier posters suggested. Asparagus were steamed until crisp before baking.

Black Bottom Cupcakes I

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2003
Delish - rich and gooey and decadent. I did pull a no-no. I only had soft cream cheese in a tub, and tried to use that the first time and it melted all over the top of the cupcake, so looked bad even though it tasted good. The 2nd time using the block style cream cheese it was perfect --- mea culpa.

BLT Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2002
Although the flavors on this was great, and everyone who tried it, liked it, it was not a "big seller" at my family's annual potluck - why??? Because it looked like a plain salad with croutons and bottled ranch dressing. Need to be sure to use romaine or other "fancy" lettuce, otherwise looks too plain when there are 5 or 6 other salads available. But would be ideal for a smaller family gathering.
