About this Cook
I cook at least 5 dinners a week and have a problem with not getting into a rut. Its great to have the reviews, they have been very helpful in determining whether my picky husband will eat an new dish or not.
My cooking tragedies
Doubling a paella but using only one very large roasting pan. Burnt outside, raw inside. Bye, bye to $40 in seafood....

Super Duper Chocolate Cookies
Delicious cookie and very attractive. I used butter instead of shortening as I avoid transfat. They spread quite a bit when you use butter and you MUST use either a silpat mat or parchment paper or you lose 10% of the cookie when you take it off the baking tray.

Sugar Cookies X
Tasty and pretty. Only caveat is be aware these are not suitable for sugar cookie cut outs, even after chilling. They spread like crazy

Slow Cooker Beef Barley Soup
Very disappointing. Really bland even though it smelled great while cooking. I even added a bay leaf and some italian seasoning out of desperation. I used stew meat, maybe I needed something fattier.....definitely not worth the time and effort if you like savory flavors in your food.
