Slow Cooker London Broil

First of all I need to thank you for the easiest, tastiest crockpot dish ever. I actually planned to make it exactly as written but realized I opened a can of cream of chicken soup instead of cream of mushroom soup by accident. I then just mixed the soups and dry onion soup mix together and poured it over the london broil, turned the meat a few times to coat it, turned the crockpot on low and ran out the door for work. I planned to be home in 8 hours or so, but got stuck at the office and didn't get home for 11 hours. I thought I was going to have a mess and no dinner. Instead I was greated to the most melt in your mouth london broil ever. The gravy was fabulous! Next time I will double the gravy so I can have leftover!

Eggplant -- Easy, Good and Tasty

i have been looking for new things to do with eggplant this time of year. the italian dressing definitely was a change in flavor from the usual. i used a whole eggplant and upped the amount of parmesan...but otherwise pretty much stuck to the recipe as written. i liked it a lot, but my husband wasn't wowwed. it is definitely easy enough to make, and i will probably make again. thanks for the recipe.

Stuffed Shells III

the filling for these shells is absolutely fabulous. i didn't change much, except i used fresh parsley and added some fresh basil. i will definitely be using this filling the next time i make my vegetarian lasagna. thanks much for the recipe!

Potato Chips

it really worked! i have to admit i was a skeptic about making potato chips in the microwave, but this really works! i didn't bother shaking potato in bag with oil. i just oiled the rotating microwave plate well, and put the potato slices right on it, then sprayed them with non-stick cooking spray and shook a little "crazy salt" on them. i have a strong microwave, so in about 6 1/2 minutes i had delicious, crispy potato chips. my husband loved them. thanks, jessica.

Connie's Zucchini 'Crab' Cakes

I was looking for something to do with the abundance of zucchini this time of year when I came across this recipe. I love crab cakes, but my husband is allergic to shellfish, so I thought this would be a great way for us to both enjoy a dish. We did both LOVE them...but I agree with others that they are more reminiscent of a potato pancake than a crab cake. I even made the last few way smaller and flatter, and we really enjoyed them that way. Will definitely make again as a small flat pancake. Thanks so much for this recipe. yum!

Cranberry Pork Roast

This was really good. I too used apple juice instead of cranberry juice, and added a splash of apple cider vinegar to offset the sweetness. My husband loved this and he is definitely not fond of food usually made in the crockpot. Thanks for the recipe.

Glazed Corned Beef

wow! yum! and thanx! i had never made a corned beef before, but it was on sale at the store. i found this recipe and it was a hit! i took the advice of others and boiled the meat first and baked with the glaze for the last 35 minutes. it was sooooo good. my husband absolutely loved it. i think the glaze would be great on a pork roast or chicken too. this is going to become a popular recipe in our house.

Japanese Chicken Wings

I made a few changes just to make myself feel less guilty about these wings. I fried them in canola oil instead of butter, and used half sugar, half splenda. I also used chicken broth instead of water...so I omitted the salt. Between the soy sauce and chicken broth, it was more than salty enough. My husband really like these. It was a lot of steps for a weeknight meal...but would make again on the weekend when I have more time.

Salmon Patties I

This is a really great simple recipe. Was able to make it quickly on a weeknight and enjoy a homecooked meal like grandma used to make (only grandma used to use matzoh meal instead of bread crumbs). I used green onions and added fresh dill, salt and pepper. Served with tartar sauce and Russian dressing.

Suki's Spinach and Feta Pasta

this is a real keeper! thank you, suki. i liked all of the ingredients, so i figured i would like the finished product, but had no idea just how good and easy this dish would be. the melting feta makes it. i am not a stickler for measuring...and changed the amounts of the ingredients (more spinach and more garlic) and it was fabulous. i listened to the advice of another reviewer and made it again the other night as a main dish by adding chicken sausage. my husband loved it.

This is a great low carb alternative to mashed potatoes. My husband is on a low carb diet and he loves this! I am not on a low carb diet, but really love it too! Last night I made it with frozen turnips and added chives. yummmmmm

Sea Bass Cuban Style

thank you! thank you! thank you! this has to be the best recipe i have made yet from this website. i knew it would be good because i liked all of the ingredients...buti didn't realize how easy, quick and delicious it would be! i made this last night for a small dinner party and it was a HUGE hit. the only changes i made were to substitute chicken broth for the wine, and used vine ripened tomatoes instead of roma. otherwise, i followed the recipe as is. i served it with cous cous and a salad, and was a weeknight gourmet! every dish was wiped clean, and everyone raved about this. i can't wait until chilean sea bass goes on sale again!

Anniversary Chicken I

this recipe has become a standard in my home. thanks so much for it. each time i make it i seem to change it up a little...but always stick to the basics. sometimes i use chicken thighs...sometimes i use real bacon...sometimes i eliminate the bacon... last week i had not bacon and used sliced cherry tomatoes on top (i added it on the last 10 minutes of baking along with the cheese). we really enjoyed it that way too.

Spaghetti Squash I

this was a really nice new dish for me. i had never made spaghetti squash before, and it will become a regular side dish for us. thanks for the recipe. the only real changes i made were throwing the squash in the microwave for about 3 minutes to make it easier to cut, and baking it a little longer than suggested. i also used scallions in place of the onion because that is what i had in the house.

Sesame Shrimp Stir-Fry

this recipe was better than i even expected! thanks so much for sharing. instead of rice, i served with lo mein style noodles. the only other thing i changed was to add some crushed red pepper to make it even spicier (i like spicy!). i will definitely be making this again, and can't wait to try it with chicken for those in my family allergic to seafood.

Mahogany Chicken Wings

I guess I was expecting something great from all the rave reviews...so I was a little dissapointed. The wings were good, but not sensational. It just seemed like a lot of ingredients, work, and time could have been saved by buying a good bottled teriyaki sauce. I made the recipe exactly as written, and found it tasted like ordinary teriyaki wings.

Slow Cooker Pepper Steak

i know i am in the minority...but i was very disappointed in this recipe. perhaps i cooked it too long...but it just tasted like a mushy stew to me and my husband. both the meat and the peppers had lost all their texture and flavor after cooking for 6 hours on low.

New Red Potato Salad

this is a great basic potato salad recipe that can be tweaked to fit the taste of those you are serving. my husband is watching his cholesterol and likes it a little sweeter, so i delete the eggs add some pickle relish. when he is not sharing in the salad, i happen to love fresh dill and a little mustard when making it for myself.
