This was a very generous and yummy cake. I made it to take to a meeting and it was a winner, with lots of comments and people asking for the recipe. The only thing I would change is to reduce the baking soda, as I could taste it in the cake. As others commented, I added extra orange juice to the cake when making it and this worked well to balance the flavour.

I liked the appearance of this cake and the idea is very novel. However, I was a bit disappointed with the finished product - it was a bit ordinary. Perhaps I didn't have the best cake mix or cookies!

This pavlova recipe turned out really well. It was marshmellowy in the middle and crisp on the outside. I substituted brown malt vinegar for the lemon juice and also used strawberries for decoration and everyone raved about it. I have cooked pavlova's before but had trouble finding a recipe that gave the marshmellow texture - now that I've found this recipe, I'm sorted!
