I have a wonderful husband, and 5 great children. Most of the time I am trying to make everyone happy at meal time without the stress of being a short order cook. I have found that by using the Allrecipes web site that I have such an awesome variety of recipes to choose from that it seems to keep everyone pretty happy. There is nothing better to me than having my family and friends around the table with a good meal. There is something to be said about taking the time to stop our busy days and take a few minutes to stop and sit down at the table together, to me that is special.
My favorite things to cook
I love to try new recipes, so I really like to cook or bake just about anything.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I don't know if this is a tradition or not but, my Mom Always cooked for us, and her Mom for her. I remember always smelling wonderful things either on the stove or in the oven. I am trying to do the same for my family. I always feel so happy when my husband and children love the meal or dessert that I have prepared for them.
My cooking triumphs
My biggest triumph was teaching myself how to prepare Pierogies. Using this web sight I was able to find a recipe. My husband had grown up eating this traditional Polish dish every year on Christmas Eve. Prepared by his Grandmother, as a child he looked forward to this. Now that his Grandmother is know longer here, I am able to carry on this tradition for him.
My cooking tragedies
when I was a young girl I made cookies for our neighbor, they were very gracious and said that the cookies were the best they had ever had. I found out some years later that I had mistaken the salt for the sugar. Whoops!!!!
