About this Cook
I'm a married mom of two girls 3 1/2 and 2 yrs. I enjoy baking sweets, and trying out new meal ideas. i have an extremely picky husband, so cooking for him is a nightmare.
My favorite things to cook
cheesecake and any kind of pastry, pie, cookie, or cake
My favorite family cooking traditions
sausage bread stuffing for Turkey and potato salad
My cooking triumphs
My famous cheesecake.
My cooking tragedies
when i was ten I couldnt seem to cook a cake successfully. It never came out of the pan, so it ended up becoming a lumpy mountain instead.

Deep Fried Oysters
this takes me back to my youth...my family would gather and we would have a meal consisting of nothing but oysters. fried were my favorite...just like these. but we also had oyster stew, oysters rockafeller, oysters broiled with bechamel sauce. It was a yearly tradition i miss.

American Potato Salad
with the following changes I give this 5 stars: omit green pepper(yuck). double the eggs, and save four eggs to slice and place decoratively on top(looks beautiful when sprinkled with paprika). I also like a combination of real mayo and whipped style dressing with a couple tablespoons of milk added to better the consistency. Also if possible i use baby(new) potatoes with the skin on.

Grandma Johnson's Scones
These were delicious. First off I was a little scared when they were baking. dough was very sticky and some of the butter seeped out, but when they were done they were fluffy and had a nice crispy sweet crust on the bottom. I put milk on top and then dusted with sugar before baking and it left a wonderful crackly sugar crust. no need for a glaze. also added frozen blueberries. terrific. going to try other fruits as well.
