Kris' Amazing Shredded Mexican Beef

Deliciously addicting! I made something similar to Chipotle restaurant big burritos using this meat, cilantro lime rice, black beans, shredded cheese, sour cream, and green chile sauce.

No Roll Pie Crust I

Wow - easy and tasty! I made apple pie with a brown sugar sweet crumb crust and this recipe for the bottom crust. It turned out perfect. I'll use this from now on!

The Best Meatloaf I've Ever Made

I won't ever need another recipe for meatloaf again. This one is fantastic! I toasted the bread in the toaster and chopped it up. I didn't use any milk but put in 3/4 of the tomato sauce. For the sauce on top I used the 1/4 tomato sauce plus 1/4 cup ketchup mixed with 1/4 cup brown sugar and a teaspoon of ground mustard.

Harvest Rice Dish

Yummy! Perfect recipe to give some flavor to that wild rice that I have. I used the zest of an entire orange. The almonds give it a nice crunch and the cranberry tartness is just right. I totally omitted the mushrooms and only used one onion which I diced. I also put more brown sugar in. I'd make this again.. maybe for Thanksgiving!

Spicy Slow Cooker Black Bean Soup

wonderful recipe! I took 3/4 of the cooked beans and a can of diced tomatos and juice and put in blender to give it more of a soup consistency - otherwise its more like beans in juice. I am going to add a cup of frozen corn to it as well. Go easy on the cayenne pepper if you don't like the heat. It's so spicy it is addicting!

Naan? This makes a superb free-form flour tortilla. Definately not worth the trouble if you are really interested in making naan bread.

Maharaja Curry

Excellent with basmati rice and naan bread! I used a 28oz can of whole peeled tomatoes. Tossed them in the blender with the onion mixture and added some of the juice from the can to help thin it down.

One Bowl Brownies

Had I followed the directions instead of reading someone's review of putting it into a smaller sized pan these might have turned out. Definately Follow the recipe on this one it's the same recipe as on the box of bakers chocolate squares so it can't be wrong..still not sure what I was thinkin!

Mocha Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins

I only had 2 over-ripe bananas and they turned out so good! I think I'll always only use 2 because I'm not a huge fan of banana flavored anything. 2 was just right. I used an electric hand mixer for 2 minutes and then stirred the dry ingredients and chocolate chips in by hand. I also filled the cups right up to the top of the paper edge and made 12 nicely rised muffins. Like others have mentioned with cutting the butter and sugar down.... I used 3/4 c butter and 1 c sugar and added extra flour due to my altitude. They are delish! I'm going to double the coffee granules next time just for kix. Thanks!

Orange Oatmeal Muffins

They didn't rise at all! I am not sure what I did wrong and what I need to do to fix this problem. I was soo hoping they'd be as good as some of the reviews. Well, I have yet to taste them as they are all sunken in the muffin tin.. maybe I'll grab a fork and eat my way through the pan. :(

Apple Stuff

Pretty yummy.. my husband and I both liked it but my 7yr old and 2yr old did not. Weird kids! I think it would be really good to add chopped rhubarb to it as well. sort of a faux strawberry rhubarb crumble if you will.

Sour Cream Coffee Cake II

The batter didn't 'pour' into the pan like it said to.. you had to spread it into place and the 'filling' needed some butter or something to soak up the sugar because it just sat there on top and fell off when you took a bite. I didn't enjoy trying to spread the second half of the batter over the filling that was no fun. I didn't enjoy making this recipe but I will give it something as it did have a bunch of good ingredients and tasted good with a cup of coffee!

Old-Fashioned Rice Pudding I

I made it exactly as the recipe says except I covered the casserole dish while it was baking which might have helped keep it moist. It is very tasty warm and I'm looking forward to trying it cold tomorrow!
