Well, that llama may be alive and well and eating like a king here on allrecipes.  The Exchange is a great place to hang out.  Wonderful place to "talk" about cooking methods, ideas, share a new recipe, rave over someone's pic.,  and it has grown to be a place were friendships… MORE

Sunshine.  I’m not talking about a clear, blue sky day.  Sunshine  invokes memories of a grocery store chain that went out of business about 15 years ago.  This store was just fun.  I loved going there as a kid because they had a horse I could ride for only a penny.… MORE

I've always loved to fish.  Guess its part of the water baby in me.  I could live on, in, by, the water and never leave.  So it was a good thing when I married Mr. Outdoorsman.  And 25 years later, while we don't have a competitive relationship in most any respect, I still… MORE

About Me
I'm a married mother of four and Grandma to the cutest little boy in the world. No, really! :) My hubby and I will celebrate our 25th anniversary in August. I work as a paralegal in a law firm. I describe myself as an ocean lover living in a landlocked state. My desire is to own my own warm, white sand beach island. In that regard my hobby is buying lottery tickets in hopes of winning enough money to buy that island. ;)
My favorite things to cook
Who knew you could be come an All Recipes addict when you don't really like following recipes? Finding inspiration on here is what its about for me. I like to get ideas and tailor them to our taste. I love to bake and am probably most creative cooking wise when I am baking. Although following recipes in baking is important. I love seafood and chicken but I'm married to a meat and taters kind of guy.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas dinners at my parents and trying to take on some of those cooking duties and learn their recipes, especially my Dad's stuffing. Making enormous platters of cookies and candies at Christmas time.
My cooking triumphs
The first time I made a fudge that actually turned out perfect. Go figure! I put it on a Christmas tray and took to Christams Eve at my parents and my Dad kept saying that it had to be store bought! To this day when I show up with fudge everyone says "so you've been shopping again!"
My cooking tragedies
Um, where do I start? The scariest is probably once, a long, long time ago when I was home with my oldest two who were 2 and 3 at the time and I was heating some oil on the stove to make them some popcorn and I turned my back on it to watch "One Life to Live" and got so engrossed in the soap the next thing I know the oil was on fire and it was quickly spreading to my cupboards. Luckily I got the lid on in time. But no cooking while soaps are on. Lesson learned!
