I used brown sugar instead of corn syrup. Otherwise, I didn't change the ingredients. Fantastic!

I didn't have garlic salt, so I used fresh garlic and table salt. Very easy to prepare. The lemon pepper seasoning is what makes this dish.

Lentils and Rice with Fried Onions (Mujadarrah)

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2009
The more you caramelize the onions, the better. I followed the suggestions of some of the Middle Eastern reviewers and added cinnamon, cumin, and chicken bouillon to the rice. It was very fragrant.

Fabulous. I added some nutmeg and used jumbo muffin pans. My husband was so happy, he couldn't stop calling me an "evil genius."

Strawberry Spinach Salad I

Other than reducing the sugar to 1/4 cup (personal preference), I didn't change the ingredients. I put the sugar, vinegar, oil, onion, paprika, and Worcestershire sauce in a food processor.

These are cute little desserts. I used jumbo muffin pans, which should yield one dozen cakes. I inserted the cherries before baking.

Churros

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2009
Unbelieveably easy! For the first batch, I used a pastry bag and a 1M Wilton decorating tip. The churros fell apart because they were thin. For the second batch, I used the pastry bag without the decorating tip, and they remained intact. A cookie press is a good idea for shaping the churros. Thanks for sharing, Delia!

Baked Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2009
Yummy. Out of fairness, I rated this four stars because I didn't follow the recipe exactly. I substituted foil with onion, carrots, celery, garlic, and potatoes. I seasoned the veggies with salt, pepper, powdered garlic, paprika, and olive oil. I used 5 chicken legs because my crock pot is too small for a whole chicken. I seasoned the drumsticks on top of the skin and underneath the skin with the same spices I used for the veggies (minus olive oil). I broiled the drumsticks for 4 min. on each side because I wanted to brown the skin. The leftover meat is great for chicken soup.

Honey Baked Chicken

I seasoned the breasts with salt, pepper, and garlic powder before baking (I used boneless). It was so good and very easy. It tasted just fine without the mustard. I sprinkled sesame seeds on top before serving. I regret not making more!
