About this Cook
I'm a full time student, I work part time, and I have a hungry husband! I'm always on the run, so I'm searching for easy to do, quick, yet tasty and healthy recipes that we can take with us for lunch or snaking. Allrecipes.com is one of my favorite websites, and probably my husbands too, since he does all the tasting, and he helps me take good photos of my creations :)
My favorite things to cook
I like cooking proven and successfull recipes that are sure to please everyone, as well as recipes that require the least amount of cleaning afterwards :) I also love to try new recipes, but only when they turn out right :) I get very disappointed when I spend all my time, effort and ingredients, and the final result does not meet my expectations, that's why I try to pick very carefully!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother, aunt, and my two grandmothers are excellent cooks, with expertise in many different dishes!!! They always entairtain lots of people on special occasions, and through out parties for which they cook everything on their own! People are always raving about their food! So, I'm trying to look like them, and keep the tradition going!
My cooking triumphs
Though a newbie, I make wonderful hand made phyllo dough!
My cooking tragedies
I once made a pork soup, and not even the cat would eat it!

Chicken Dilly
Good but not perfect. Something misses that will make the taste even better. Also, next time I might substitute dill for oregano, or for basil, as dill was not very complementary to the eggplant/tomato.

Ethiopian Cabbage Dish
Substituted turmeric for yellow mustard. It was delicious and we'll definitely do it again! Thank you!

Stuffed Eggplant with Shrimp and Basil
This recipe was good. I used dried basil and omitted the bread crumbs. I added half onion chopped. Overall, it needed more seasoning. Next time will try adding seasoned tomato sauce, and fresh basil like directed in the recipe.
