GrannyLin's Barbeque Ribs Made Easy

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2009
I really liked the browning of the ribs in the broiler part of this recipe. I forgot to do the salt and pepper- no biggie since the bbq sauce I used is the bomb! I put the bbq sauce in at the beginning and cooked the meat in it on high for a little more than 2 hours. The meat was falling off the bone in that short of time. And it was delicious!

Chuck's Favorite Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2009
I would give just the crunchy buttery bread crumbs on top of the mac and cheese 5 stars by themselves. For me those MADE this meal. I used milk instead of sour cream, which I'm glad because I don't like things tasting too sour. And I used less than called for. I also added some onion, garlic and cayenne powder for extra flavor. It turned out better than I imagined.

Slow Cooker Pork Chops II

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2009
It was okay. There's something about it I can't quite put my finger on that I wasn't too stoked about it. It was moist- that was a plus. But way too oily. I used less than 1/2 the amt called for, and I def think it could've gone without.

Creamy Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2009
Great idea! The sauce def. needed something more. I added sauteed garlic, onion powder, italian seasoning, cayenne powder, black pepper and salt. Boiling the chicken is a nice touch since it makes the chicken very moist! I used the left over chicken broth instead of milk just cuz I'm resourceful like that. I added frozen spinach along with the peas. It all turned out really great. It's a great use for the million cans of cream of mushroom soup in the cupboard!

Of the veggies all I had was canned corn. I thought the extra cornstarcy-sauciness was weird. But my husband seemed to really like it.

Steff's Shepherd Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2009
I think this recipe is fool proof! Half way through, I realized I was doing 1/2 of everything except the can of soup. But it still turned out delicious. To the meat I added chopped onions and garlic and seasoned salt. To the mixture I added frozen peas and lots of black pepper. To the mashed potatoes I added cayenne pepper, salt, butter, milk, garlic powder and lots of onion powder. It went so well with Pillsbury biscuits!

Soba with Toasted Sesame Seed Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2009
First of all, I had no broccoli, so I used peas and a couple green beans instead. I also didn't have fresh garlic, so I had to use garlic powder. I probably used 1/8 Cup of sesame seeds and that was more than enough. I would go easy on the balsamic vinegar. It was just okay, so we kept adding stuff to it through out the meal. The sliced ham and salted scrambled egg gave our pallets a pleasant break from being overpowered by the noodle sauce.

I thought they were really good. I did add vanilla though. I'd like to see how they'd taste with a some oats and brown sugar.

Tasty! I used canned stewed tomatoes and an Italian seasoning mix since I didn't have the fresh ingredients. I also added parmesan. To my suprise, I loved the tomato-y flavor!

Double Chocolate Mocha Trifle

I tasted this somewhere else and had to find it on allrecipes. This recipe is delicious! I modified 2 things: I followed the recipe on the box for the pudding which worked out well (because this recipe I think calls for too little milk). And we don't drink instant coffee, so I made a tiny bit of really strong coffee with our french press and mixed that in with the pudding. The coffee after taste is awesome!

Hamburger Hash

Like everyone else said- a great starter. Add some minced garlic, worshtershire sauce, pepper, salt, cumin, seasonall, and it's a great main course. I omited the bullion b/c I like to experiment with spices. I only added enough water to soften the potatoes, and some flour to keep it from being runny.

Easy Ground Beef Stroganoff

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2009
I followed the recipe except I didn't have mushrooms, and I only used 3/4 of the bullion cubes. WAY too salty (and I like salt!). So... I added a bunch of water... still too salty... added egg noodles thinking it would even out the flavor... still too salty. So finally I just ladeled out most the broth, and now it tastes great. I'll save the juice to make a soup tomorrow.

I put taco seasoning, and sprinkled cayanne pepper on my batch too, but I wish I had still added some more spice of some sort. I thinkn I might like it a little more runny too.

Red Fruity Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2006
I've made this pie twice so far. It's really easy, and tastes great! I think 2 cups of fruit is too little though, so I added more. The second time I made it, I added more raspberries than cherries just cuz I like it tart! It's wonderful with a scoop of vanilla icecream. Oh- and if you add too much juice, it makes the crust soggy instead of crunchy.
