Garlic Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2011
Really good. I cute the pieces smaller and they cooked up fine. I did broil them for 10 minutes in the end to crisp them up (turning after 5 min). I didn't have lemon juice and I could taste where that was missed. I used a parsley seasoned garlic salt and also cut up some sweet onions but those were the only changes. Next time I'll carmalize the onions before I add them. Really liked it.

Pineapple Upside-Down Cake VII

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2011
Used my 12" cast iron and didn't change a thing. It was fantastic! My Charleston born and raised step father said it was as good as anything he'd ever had. Was able to substitute all the water with pineapple juice. Cooked it for 40 minutes (10 minutes longer than the directions) and it was moist and delicious. I've tried many recipes for this dish and it's hands down the best (even beating my grandma's from scratch version). I wish there were more stars.

Red Wine Reduction Steak Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2010
This was the perfect reduction. I didn't have any shallots or mushrooms (sadly because I love them) but used some celery and it still came out very tasty.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2010
Wow, totally disappointed. I read everyone's reviews and only modified to add the extra sugar and vanilla. Although they did taste good, the batter was VERY sticky. Even after chilling for 4 hours, had to put the batch in the freezer for a little while to get it firm enough to roll out. They cooked up quickly but stuck to my pans. I still gave them a 4 star rating because they taste good and I'm not the best cook so it may have been my fault instead of the cookie recipe.

Allison's Supreme Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2009
Mine didn't turn out as great as everyone says but I'm still giving it 5 stars because it's a great recipe and shouldn't be thought less so because of my poor baking skills. I had to use one cup of butter flavored shortening because I was out of regular butter. I also didn't have the liquor which I'm sure would've given an extra burst of flavor. Mine didn't flatten at all but stayed soft. I might have beat the flour too long in the excitement of using my Kitchen Aid mixer for the first time in months.

Mom's Best Pork Chops

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2007
Was very flavorful. Added some Pork seasoning to the Ritz club crackers and eggs. Cooked it in an every day pan so it went right into the oven. I think I used too much oil because it was a little greasy, I'll cut back on the oil next time. My hubby really liked it.

Chicken Tetrazzini for a Crowd

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2007
This almost got 5 stars which doesn't happen much here. Too many pots/pans cost it and the original recipe seemed boring so I modified. I used white wine instead of chicken broth which really added some zing. I used roasted red peppers and sauteed the mushrooms in garlic and olive oil. For spice I used the normal amount of salt and pepper but added both red pepper flakes and chili pepper to taste. Hubby loved the spicy flare. I put the crackers on top, nice touch, but it dried it out a bit. I'll use more wine next time. It was really good.

Chicken and Dressing Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2005
So easy to make and very yummy. My husband loved it too. It was even better after re-heating a couple days later. I followed some of the suggestions such as using milk and also chicken broth instead of water. I also used some frozen veggies I had on hand.

No Bake Cookies I

Just like I remember as a kid! What's not to love? Chocolate, PB, oatmeal and no cooking! Even my adult friend raved and asked for more.

So easy to do and a great snack. I made it during a holiday season and put it in decorative bags. It was such a hit.
