About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
Potato-Leek Soup, french onion soup, lasagna, spaghetti, tacos, meatloaf, new stuff!, stir fry, sweedish meatballs, chicken dishes, asian stuff, mexican stuff, soups, stews, just about anything!!! I prefere stove-top cooking so I can taste it as I go.
My cooking tragedies
I once added 1 cup salt to Peach Cobbler instead of sugar. I tried to add a whole bunch of sugar to compenstate, but it was just too salty. Tried baking it anyway as I had company over, but yeuck! We remember it as "Salt Cobbler" now.

Spicy Bok Choy in Garlic Sauce
This was wonderful! I hardly ever follow the exact directions as I tweak most recipes to suit my family's taste, but this I made as directed. Excellent flavor. I doubled it and had some of the sauce to serve over our rice. Served with grilled chicken that had been marinated in bottled Soy Vay sauce.

Italian Vegetable Soup
We love this! I've made it several times. I do add a lot more water as we love a real soupy soup. I use "Better Than Bouillon" instead of bouillon cubes. It has much better flavor. I use a lot more of the dried herbs than called for as well. But it makes a wonderful meal and we love it. You might try boiling the pasta/noodles separate so it doesn't soak up all your water/juice in the soup.
