About this Cook
I love to cook! The best part is when folks ask for seconds. Then I know it's a success!
My favorite things to cook
Traditional, family foods. Nothing too fancy, but hearty and healthy. I love to experiment and luckily my husband isn't a picky eater.
My favorite family cooking traditions
All day cooking events for big holiday dinners. Ethnic foods from my grandparents were made growing up and are still my favorite comfort foods.
My cooking triumphs
Getting confident enough to experiment on my own and not needing measuring cups/spoons. Learning to go off instinct of what tastes good/how long to cook/how much to add, etc.
My cooking tragedies
Not listening to my gut instinct on a recipe and being disappointed in the results.

Cod au Gratin
The sauce came out very thick and we added a little garlic powder with the salt and pepper, along with most of the cheese. Overall, a tasty alternative to just 'fish'.

Cinnamon Pork Loin and Potatoes
Even with a little tweaking and reducing the cinnamon, the meat was on the bland side and the potatos just too 'one-noted' with the cinnamon.

Sunshine Chicken
I added a dash of cayenne, extra garlic, and accidentally doubled the honey (which was used in place of corn syrup) and we loved it. Baked for an hour on a broiler pan to let the grease drain, then finished under the broiler for a few minutes to crispy it up.
