About this Cook
I'm a high school English teacher. I am a very social person, I love to entertain and cook! My biggest aspirations in life include writing for a living and raising a happy and healthy family someday. I love the country and have an awesome German Shepard named Indiana. My husband, Jamie, is wonderful and I love it when he really enjoys something I've made! I also love to read, travel, shop, and play around on the internet!
My favorite things to cook
My favorite things to cook are the handful of things I cook really well. I'm wonderful with Italian classics (I'm 100% Italian) like Eggplant and Chicken Parmisagn, Lasagna, homemade Meatballs and Baked Ziti. I also love to cook a "Nontraditional Quiche" that people seem to love, as well as Stuffed Mushrooms, Encilladas, Greek Rice, and homemade Spaghetti Sauce.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother is an amazing cook and has always handed down recipes of greatness! Everything she puts on her table is amazing... my favorite is her Chicken Parmisagn. My aunt is also an amazing cook but is most famous for her delicious baking! She has handed down recipes (sorry those are top secret) for some traditional Italian cookies that I treasure!
My cooking triumphs
My first cooking triumph happened a few years ago when I finally attempted my grandmother's famous meatballs. My husband claimed they were even better than hers (something I still don't believe)! This was a time for me that I realized that I'm ITALIAN... cooking is in my blood!
My cooking tragedies
My biggest cooking tragedy occured recently when I spent quite some time preparing a New Lasagna (cottage cheese instead of Ricotta... helping keep this Italian slimmer) and chose, out of time issues, not to include ground beef. The Lasagna was a major let down for everyone! :(
