About this Cook
If I had an unlimited budget to build a house I would create the kitchen first and build around it... If I could cook everyday for everyone I would...I collect cookbooks and one of my most favorite things is sitting down with a brand new cook book and exploring it for the first time... Recipes inspire me - I take a recipe and run with it - that process is so much fun!
My favorite things to cook
Well, guacamole is my favorite condiment of all. Therefore, I will build a meal around that every week!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I remember my Nana's Sunday Dinners and I hope to resurrect that special occasion in my family.
My cooking triumphs
I have my entire extended family eating Collard Greens for our traditional New Years Day Dinner. My recipe uses a saute method with olive oil, onions, apple cider vinegar and sugar. It's expected every year now!
My cooking tragedies
I have failed so many times on just the average meal. How many times I have said out loud "what was I thinking?". But how can you create a masterpiece if you don't experiment and make mistakes?

Butter Bean Burgers
Very good. I followed the recipe exactly. I let the burgers hang out in the fridge for about an hour before cooking - and they held together very well. I will make them again without a bun - they are tasty all on their own.

Peanut Butter Haystacks
Very simple and suprisingly addictive. Sweet, salty and crunchy. My husband eats the entire batch within a day. Honestly, I can't make it often because it is dangerous to have around....you know what I mean?

Authentic Thousand Island Dressing
This dressing is delicious. I am not an egg fan though. If you love eggs in your salad you will flip over this recipe. I now make with out mixing in the eggs and it is perfect for me.
