About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
Anything with black beans, spaghetti, and tuna noodle casserole.
My cooking triumphs
Anything I make that my husband enjoys and tells me I can make again. He comes from a family of good cooks and it's hard to get his stamp of approval since he's such a food critic. And it's even more rewarding when he tells others about a great dinner I made.
My cooking tragedies
A couple recipes from this site that just didn't turn out good at all. Had to throw away an entire casserole, but the dog enjoyed finding it in the trash!

Bob's Awesome Lasagna
Good recipe, but I modified it just a hair like others had done.....added 1 egg to cottage cheese mixture, and used 56 oz. of spag sauce. When I make this next time I will most definately use a very large container of ricotta instead of cottage cheese. There wasn't nearly enough cottage cheese in the recipe, plus I think it would taste better with ricotta. I soaked my uncooked noodles in hot water for 40 minutes and they turned out great. Definately add more spices at your leisure, like garlic powder, italian seasoning, and a dash of nutmeg.

Slow Cooker Chicken Stroganoff
This is so easy and inexpensive to make. I'm not sure what Stroganoff is supposed to taste like, but we thought it tasted like a mild chicken alfredo. Next time I may add some mushrooms, but it's good just the way it is.

Orange Cream Fruit Salad
I think this recipe needs some sugar and the fruit could be doubled. Too much 'dressing' and not enough fruit. I doubt I will make it again. It just tastes okay.
