Taco Salad III

This has been a staple in my house and for parties for years. We love it. I use Catalina dressing or for a little zing- Western dressing is great.

Green Chili Rice Casserole

This is an odd mixture- I wasn't too sure about it at first but it came out great. We all loved it even the kids. I did use Jasmine rice for it which was great. I use that rice in all my dishes. But I bet this one would be good with brown rice as well. This one's a keeper- thanks for sharing.

Pork Chops with Sour Cream and Mushroom Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2009
What a great starter recipe. As made it is still good but bland for my family tastes. We are spice monsters. When I make this, I usually put in fresh mushrooms sliced a bit thick so they don't get mushy, I brown the chops with garlic powder and seasoning salt and also add chopped garlic. My family loves it this way. Thanks for the great start.

Slow Cooker Sauerkraut and Sausage

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2009
Great tasting and easy but I think the cook time is a little too long if your sausage is store bought and not home made. I cook on low 3 hours and it's great. My crock pot is brand new and seems very powerful so keep that in mind, not sure if it makes a difference but it might. Thanks for sharing.

Garlic Butter Shrimp

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2009
In short, I'm in love with this recipe. As written, it's tasty and impressive for guests. It's so easy that anyone could make it. I have made it numerous times. As written and doctored to my family's taste. When I heat the butter, I throw in some garlic powder, dill, parsley, and lemon pepper. You can basically put anything you want in this recipe and it will be delish. Except for already cooked shrimp...I like to cook with raw shrimp but cooked were on a major sale so I picked them up, it was just ok in this recipe- raw is much better and moister. This is one of my favorites ever all the way around. Thanks for sharing.

This is an awesome dish. I didn't use canned potatoes- I used simply potato diced with onion. I added some salt pepper and garlic powder. You can add all sorts of stuff to this and it's awesome reheated the next day- preferably fried! Yum! Thanks for sharing- this will become a staple.

I used Gracie's idea with the lemon juice and this came out amazing. Even my 7 year old daughter who hates meat ate it and has requested it again. Delicious! Thanks! The recipe as written is an excellent starter recipe to play with as well. Thanks!

Catherine's Sirloin Tip Roast

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2009
I will definitely use this recipe again. It was the first time- this roast came out tender and perfect for me. I took it out at 135 and let sit for about 15-20 minutes and it was somewhere between rare and medium rare which is how we like it and the flavor was simple and fabulous. It was great for sandwiches the next day as well. Thanks for this awesome recipe!!

Mushroom Sauce Baked Pork Chops

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2009
So good and so easy. The chops were tender and an hour was great. I gave it 4 stars because without adding garlic and seasoning salt- and some other spices- it would have been too bland. But other than that, it was good and I'll make it again.

Slow Cooker Creamed Corn

I tried this for something different. It was ok but I may be the odd one and stick to creamed corn in the can. My family didn't enjoy this much. 3 stars for easy. Thanks.

Prosciutto Wrapped Asparagus

Loved these. I did put cream cheese on some but didn't like it as much as I did without it. I also used bundles of 3 stalks of white and green asparagues and 2-3 slices of prosciutto. Really classy and good. Thanks!

Country Potato Pancakes

These were good and easy but I needed more egg to hold it together. I used thawed hash browns so that may have been the problem with the binder. Other than that they are addictive.

Suki's Spinach and Feta Pasta

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2009
Wow- delish and easy even with whole wheat pasta. I didn't have mushrooms and used canned tomatoes but this was amazing. A little extra garlic and oil because we love it and you have a great flavor blend. Use greek feta and not the cheap kind for this- the cheese gives it great depth. Thanks for sharing!

Easy Pork Chop Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2009
I wish I could give this one 4.5 stars. I think the cook time might be off. I cooked for an hour and my chops were a bit dry so next time- 45 minutes should be good. Otherwise, this was great. I used 2 cans of soup to one can of water and the gravy was perfect and tasty. I just needed some extra salt and pepper. Easy and yummy- just what dinner should be. Thanks!
