About this Cook
My heritage is deep-southern; I now reside in Atlanta, Georgia. I hold an Associates Degree in Foods & Nutrition. I currently work as Purchasing Coordinator for Nutrition Services with an area hospital. To say the least, I take my work home with me as my passion for cooking pours into my life at home.
My favorite things to cook
SEAFOOD is my favorite especially with the cajun/creole influence.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I still enjoy the comfort foods of the deep south. Fried Fish, Okra, ALABAMA BARBEQUE--Spicy, Mustard-type sauce. Shrimp are a staple where I'm from as well.
My cooking triumphs
I've made a career at what I do. I have a lot that I'd like to learn and a bright future ahead. My triumph is to continue doing what I love no matter how tough things get at times.
My cooking tragedies
I've had my share of mistakes and that's how I've learned. Let's just say there's been many of nights where we've had sandwiches and pitched what I attempted to prepare. I like to think of them as Cooking Comics rather than Tragedy.

Cajun Crabmeat Au Gratin
This is a decent recipe, but a little too salty. I would definitely make this again, but I will look for ways to cut the salt. Omit salt in recipe, rinse seafood before prep, check sodium profile on cheese, etc.
