I am a fun loving, newly married redhead that loves to cook. I grew up in Greenwood, IN, went to Uindy for college where I graduated with an degree in History. I've worked at a local living history museum where I learned alot about historical cooking... Cooking on the Hearth, Butchering chickens and Pigs, baking in a wood burning stove... That I think is when I really really started getting interested in cooking. I now work out at the Indianapolis Internation Airport for a private charter company, so I can be home to cook dinner for my husband.
My favorite things to cook
My favorite things to cook? Too many things actually. I come from a family of farmers that raise beef, so I am always try to find ways to use up my freezer full of beef. I also try and find recipes that suit the season or things that I can find at the farmers market.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom and I like to get together to make holiday dinners. This year we had Christmas at my new house. We also like to get together and make christmas cookies.
My cooking triumphs
This year I cooked the Thanksgiving Turkey... I put whole sage leaves under the turkey skin, and then lathered the turkey in butter. My mom was so proud, and the men in my life loved it! I'm just glad I didn't under cook it.
My cooking tragedies
I made a Make ahead french toast bake for the guys at my work... When I put it in the oven, the maple syrup topping ended up oozing on to the bottom of my brand new oven. Yuck.
