About this Cook
Im married, with a 4 yr old son. Some days I think my husband married me for my chili.. He LOVES it.. We like to play World of Warcraft together, online. And I love to cook for other people.
My favorite things to cook
My chili is one of my favorites to cook, cuz everyone loves it. My best friend insists on my homemade chicken noodle soup whenever she's sick. I love to bake peach cobbler, a recipe I got from here. Im now starting more "healthy" eating, so it should be interesting to see what I can come up with and what recipes from here will become my favorites!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom and I would bake Christmas cookies every year. We also would can pickled peppers. Come to think of it, I need to get her recipe and submit it!
My cooking triumphs
Any meal people like and isnt burned, its a triumph.
My cooking tragedies
When I was about 15, I baked my mom a chocolate cake from scratch, even the frosting.. I was SO proud. I was picking it up to move it from the kitchen to the dinning room table, when I lost my grip on the platter, and it toppled from my hands. The living room rug was covered in cake. My older brothers laughed at me and I cried for an hour. My mom helped me clean it up and told me she was proud I made it for her and she was sure it was delicious. Also, I was making speghetti sauce one day, grabbed the wrong bottle of spices from the cupboard and added CINNAMON to the sauce.. IT WAS AWFUL! TERRIBLE! No on would eat it!

Butter-Dipped Biscuit Squares
I was very disappointed in this recipe. First, it was unclear if you bake the dough IN the butter, or just dip the biscuits. Second, they turned out NOTHING like the picture. Flat bread is what I got, and yes, I used self-rising flour. I dont think I will make these again.. My son, who LOVES biscuits wouldnt touch them.

Stuffed Peppers with Turkey and Vegetables
Other than accidentally mincing the onions in the food processor instead of chopping them, this recipe was uber easy to make.. I doubled it, using 1 yellow, 4 red and 4 green peppers.. had plenty of stuffing. smells wonderful cooking.. used suggestions of tomato sauce on instad of paste.. had to strain the mixture a little, as it was watery, but definately a keeper!

Tres Leches (Milk Cake)
very rich, but very good! A little cheesecakey in texture, but moist and yummy!
