Pad Kee Mao

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2009
Stellar! And simple! Oh wow, I love this dish! I used seafood, fresh rice noodles; added mushrooms and omitted the sugar. I added extra thick soy sauce and I believe the thick soy sauce is a must, because it imparts flavor that regular soy sauce does not. I didn't have fresh basil, however, I did have fresh pesto, so I blended it at the last minute. Must try! Thanks, Deborah B and your husband!

Savory Zucchini Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2009
Marvelous muffins! I could not stop eating them! I sauteed the zucchini and broccoli until slightly tender. I used Greek yogurt and buttermilk and then proceeded with the recipe. I baked it for 25-30 mins. Definitely A+ recipe. I will make these tender, moist, delicious morsels again! Thanks Christina!

Topsy-Turvy Apple Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2009
Awesome concept and a scrumptious, gooey addition to an apple pie that took it over the top! Made this pie last night by happenstance. I had a ruined pie crust/dough and needed to disguise it and voila! A delicious find. This pie was enjoyed by everyone who tried it this morning. A girl who loves apple pie and who I actually made it for said,"This is the best apple pie! Ever!" I didn't follow the recipe exactly; I used another recipe for the pie crusts; pre-cooked the thinly sliced(1/8") Granny Smith apples and the ingredients for 15 mins over med/low heat and then cooled. Tasted it for its sweetness and sprinkled another 1/4c. brown sugar. The filling wasn't runny/slimey, which I find so prevalent in many pies. It's a process, but I will make it again for Thanksgiving. Thanks for sharing cmsassman!

Maharani Cupcakes

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2009
Copiously unique! I'm the only reviewer of this recipe and I was excited to take my first bite. The combination of flavors were unbelieveably harmonious, especially if you like exotic flavors of the East and the Tropics. You will be delightfully surprised by this cupcake! Definitely NOT for the faint of palette! I used Duncan Heinz butter recipe yellow cake mix; 1 Tbsp of curry, 1 Tbsp of coconut extract and 4 cups of powder sugar in total and it was plentiful. Next time, I will shred the sweetened flaked coconuts more to keep the taste, yet not so pronounced in the texture. Used only 2 stems of the basil and it perfumed the frosting perfectly. It is a process, but I believe it will be a recipe you'll want to use when you want something that can only be experienced!

Paprika Chili Steak

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2009
Whoa! What a STAR recipe for simple ingredients! The flavor is subtle, yet distinct and scrumptious! It doesn't create a sauce, but has a superb steak sauce taste. I used chuck cross rib steaks; sprinkled Montreal Seasoning first and then marinated it for 24 hrs. I used smoked paprika and added 2 tsp. Chipotle chile pepper(ground). I fried it in a smoking hot oiled cast iron skillet for 3 minutes on each side and put it in the oven for 4 mins @ 400 degrees. Plenty of bits in the pan to make a small gravy, if you desire. Perfection! Must try!

Tiramisu II

Restaurant quality or better! Time consuming, but so simple to prepare! I baked my own lady fingers(easy)and added half bar of cream cheese to 8oz of Mascarpone cheese and the flavor was immense, elegant and balanced. The texture was light, creamy and fluffy! You must let the flavor bloom over night in the fridge. Must DO!

Chewy Cocoa Brownies

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2009
Surely Moist, but not chewy as the title claims! I used it for the centers of my cupcakes and it was very good; however, the brownie on its own lacked deep chocolate flavor and the chewiness I was searching for.

Too bad, the over-powering buttery taste ruined the expected spicy and tangy flavors of Buffalo Chicken wings that I enjoy. Searching for another recipe.

Brownie Batter + Cupcake = The SECOND BEST Cupcake. Ever

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2009
Oh my! What a cupcake!!! Easy ingredients and scrumptious concept! Carmely tops sitting on moist, fudgy brownies were sensational! I followed the cake mix recipe, using 3 whole eggs; used a cookie scooper for cake and smaller scooper for brownie batter. Next batch, I will add more brownie batter to the cake batter before baking...making it again for sure!

Evin's Indian Apricot Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2009
MomZilla! I just finished *french kissing* your recipe! I had previously seasoned my salmon with S&P, onion powder, garlic powder, red pepper flakes and set it aside. I followed your directions except the chicken aspect and simmered the ingredients for 10-15 mins and poured the sauce over the baked salmon. And Oh my! It was copiously delish and now I could be prego! LOL! I served it with brown rice and watercress salad. I believe this can be used on almost any meat/seafood with success...Thanks Evin!

Greek Honey Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2009
Love this cake! Deliciously moist texture that melts in your mouth with a nutty bite. Doubled the recipe; added walnuts, almonds, lemon zest, orange juice to the batter and used an excellent syrup from a baklava recipe that I drizzled over the 10x15x1" cake pan after cutting it into diamond shapes. Even better the next day; the cake soaked up the syrup and we were addicted! Better than most coffee cakes--can be used to deliver almost any berries. Awesome RUMOR!
