I've worked for a major airline for 27 years and have been fortunate to eat all over the world. It has helped to develope the desire to blend different cuisines and flavors when I cook.
My Dad loved to cook and he would always include a trip to the cheese shop on saturdays and to his butcher on sunday mornings. These are some of the things that developed my passion for food and a desire to wake up every day wondering "what can I create today with what I have on hand"
I also raised three boys, the youngest is 15 and they were always hungry. My middle son didn't like anything that didn't look right and he always wanted to sniff his food so it was a challange not to only make it taste good, but to make it look good and smell good!
I am the owner of a personal chef service "a Simple Pleasure"which I started in 2001 and in 2005 became a member of The United States Personal Chef Association. I reside in Acworth,Ga with myhusband, son and our 10 year old pomeranian.
My favorite things to cook
Anything
My favorite family cooking traditions
Collards,Kale mix with smoked turkey.Omlettes and any breakfast foods
My cooking triumphs
The first time I prepared a crown roast. It looked so beautiful!
In 2002 2003 I worked in the kitchen of an estate home, with the family's private chef, and because there were no sous chefs that day,he asked me to help prepare a signature dessert for an impromptu lunchen the next day.I was as scared as I was Happy!
My cooking tragedies
The first time I doubled a zuchinni bread recipe and added to much baking soda.Eight mini loaves and two regular loaves exploded in th oven and then they all fell. But they were the best tasting zucchini bread I ever had.
