About this Cook
I'm a married woman with a full time job, a baby boy, and a husband with wierd hours (he works 12 hour night shifts). I love cooking and cleaning as wierd as that sounds. I eventually want to be a great cook but definitely need some practice first!!!
My favorite things to cook
I love cooking anything that will impress my husband and turn into a healthy meal. However, I do have an addiction for making anything with sugar or chocolate.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My grandmother used to make these cookies that she called cowboy cookies. Everyone in my family loved them but me so I'm determined to improve on the recipe when I figure out how!
My cooking triumphs
I took great pleasure in being able to recreate a cake that my mother-in-law had made for husband's birthday.
My cooking tragedies
For another one of my husband's birthdays, he asked me to make him a coconut cream pie from scratch. I researched and found a recipe. The first attempt with my recipe ended up down the drain because I didn't read the directions completely and mixed ingredients in the wrong order. The second attempt ended in the trash can when I found out he didn't like the pie and informed me that he wanted his mother's coconut cream pie. The third attempt with his mother recipe also ended down the drain because I mixed everything in the wrong order, again!! I finally got it right on the fourth try! What a way to waste a dozen eggs!

Simple Salisbury Steak
This was very good but the patties tended to break apart while cooking. I will make it again but will try to add more bread crumbs to help hold the patties together.

Mexican Rice I
I made this exactly as the recipe states and it had zero flavor. This recipe definitely needs something. I doubt I would ever make this again.

Rosemary Rice
My husband thought this was a nice change from plain rice but I couldn't even finish one helping of it. There is too much rosemary in this dish to have a balanced flavor. I doubt I will ever make it again.
