Decen recipe but not a five star one. Needs a veggie for sure and fresh ginger. Good for a quick weeknight meal though.

Pan Sauce Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2012
SO good and very easy. I made changes based on the reviews - used the flour and water mix but added some of the hot liquid into the bowl with the flour/water and whisked it together, then added it back into the pan. I didn't have any problems with clumping. I also added 3 whole garlic cloves and juice from 1/2 lemon to the sauce prior to simmering. I removed the cloves prior to serving. Made enough sauce to serve over angel hair with a side of green beans. Very good, healthy and simple! Highly recommend for a weeknight meal.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Very good - next time I will thicken by using flour before searing it and adding cornstarch if still thin. Great flavor.

Hunan Kung Pao

Great and easy recipe! I think you could cut the oil in half to reduce calories, which I will try next time. I left the chile peppers out because it was for my kids but it still turned out great without it. My husband loved it, highly recommended!

Greek Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: May 18, 2011
This is a good base recipe but does need some tweaking. It is a bit dry - not terribly the first day but the leftovers are dry (that is with added marinade from the artichokes). I also think it needs additional veg and olives are a must. I would recommend some type of peppers, mushrooms and olives at minimum. Maybe adding some greek dressing or more olive oil the next day would make for a good cold pasta salad. I enjoyed it but my family didn't care for it.

Almond-Topped Fish

Reviewed: May 16, 2011
I was going to give it three starts until I realized I forgot to put the almonds on at the end - that probably would've given it a nice touch of crunch and flavor. I wasn't a huge fan of the mayo, I might cut down on that next time. It did have good flavor though and I used fresh haddock, which was good and not terribly expensive. The onions were not cooked and added nothing to the dish, I will definitely skip those next time.

Best Cream Of Broccoli Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2011
Great soup! I didn't like the idea of making it completely smooth so I just used an immersion blender a little to break up the big chunks. I used frozen brocoli and also subbed 1/2 c. half and half for 1/2 c. milk (the remaining was 2%). I can't say if that made a difference but it still wasn't that thick so I think it was worth the calories. I also added garlic and nutmeg based on previous reviews. It needed salt to in my opinion. Overall a great base recipe and SO simple to make.

VERY good glaze. I would prefer it with Seabass but didn't want to take stars away for personal taste preference as far as the fish. I will use this recipe again, very very easy.

Pesto Chicken Florentine

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2011
It is good for a healthy-ish version of Chicken Florentine. I only gave it four stars because the directions are not written great. Like a previous reviewer said, you should not saute garlic on med-high heat, it will burn. Also, the pasta should be cooked at the same time in order to save time, and I didn't like how it called for dry mix but didn't give directions on how to prepare it. I know you can follow the back but I found this recipe in the healthy cooking section and I don't know if the calories account for the ingredients in the dry package plus milk/butter. Anyway, good base recipe.

These are really good and stay soft. I did find them a little cakey but I just personally prefer mine to be moist, almost like dough-y. I think these are great anyway though and my husband really liked them.

Chinese Chicken Fried Rice I

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2010
The only changes I made was to add a little fresh ginger and I left out green pepper (don't like them). It was a lot of chopping but otherwise very easy and I thought it was great! I really liked that it had a lot of veggies in it and was fresh tasting with no butter!

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2010
These are AMAZING! I followed the recipe exactly using a break machine. My only change was to mix the cinamon, brown sugar and butter and then spread. This was the first time I ever made cinnamon rolls or anything in a bread maker (I don't bake usually) and it was great! I also covered them overnight and left in fridge before baking - I had to cook for 5 - 10 extra minutes but otherwise it didn't change anything and made the morning much easier. Someone recommended doubling the frosting but I had plenty leftover so I think that would be excessive - even though the frosting is SO good! Thanks a lot for the recipe!

Grilled Sea Bass

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2010
I actually made this with Halibut and thought it was really good. I know it would be even better with seabass, but I was making it on a Monday...didn't want to spend the extra money. Very light flavor and love the fact that it is done on the grill. Thanks!
