About this Cook
Indiana farm kid. When Mom died a few years back we had a good old-fashioned farm auction and somehow her recipe box showed up missing. My heart still skips a beat when I think about that and consider it one of the great failings of my life that I didn't get to go through it and make copies. Some of her recipes went back to the 1800s.
My favorite family cooking traditions
mom could cook anything and it was delicious. Her black raspberry pie was unbelieveable. She made a dish we called Pot Pie that was really nothing more than beef and noodles but the noodles were about 1" square and she made it from fresh dough instead of drying it like noodles. It was always the family favorite.

My cooking tragedies
1000 characters wouldn't come close to handling the stories about my cooking tragedies. Okay, I'm a guy, what do you expect?

Fried Cornmeal Mush
Loved this growing up...still do and you can buy it at Bob Evans restaurants. My Mom used to fry up some sausage real brown, crumble it up and add to the mixture. Nice change and we loved it.
