About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
stews, soups, italian, breakfasts
My favorite family cooking traditions
southern all the way, fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy. Also, every Christmas Eve my dad makes a Pennsylvania Dutch potato soup recipe.
My cooking triumphs
I always seem to make new things on special occasions when company comes over. I never try the recipies first, but they've always come out great!
My cooking tragedies
I made a spanish three milk cake and forgot the 1/8 teaspoon of baking powder. It was supposed to be about 7 inches high, and ended up being about 2 inches high. It was still good, but you could only eat a tiny bit at a time....super rich.

Taco Seasoning I
mmm..... we made taco seasoning with this tonight. It was so good! We didn't have red pepper flakes, so we used cayanne. It worked just as well. We're going to make a whole bunch of this to keep in a jar. All the flavor, no funky red color.

Roasted Red Pepper Cream Sauce
This was very good. I added about 1/4 of a medium sweet onion and some cubed chicken. I sauteed the chicken first and then used the same pan to make the sauce. I didn't remove it from the pan to blend, I used a hand blender (my boat motor:)) and it turned out great. So easy and simple to make. I also used the fat free 1/2 & 1/2. Will definately make it again

Dianne's Crab
WOW! I was really surprised at how good this was. I didn't have lemon pepper, so I put about a tablespoon and a half of lemon juice and 1/2 tsp of pepper. It was wonderful! We put it over egg noodles. I didn't realize that I forgot the cheese the first time around. With the leftovers we had mozzarella, so we used that. It was SO good. I stirred it in a little first, then put more on top once it was on the plate and let it melt. It was amazingly good. I will definately make this again!
