My favorite things to cook
Seafood, Pasta, Mexican, Soups
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom has always been the primary cook in my family, but my dad makes the best turkey stuffing. He usually only does it once a year, either for Thanksgiving or Christmas so it's sort of a running joke - "Did dad make HIS stuffing?"
My cooking triumphs
Learning how to cook a filet mignon perfectly. Having my parents over to dinner for the first time, making Paella and receiving compliments. Anything that hubby tells me can go in the keeper file. Baking cookies without burning them.
My cooking tragedies
I think I was around 22, right out of college and living in my first apartment. I had never done any cooking, and decided that I was going to make spaghetti and meatballs. I didn't even own a cookbook, but I remembered being younger and helping my mother roll the meat up to make the meatballs. So I proceeded to buy ground beef, and without adding anything to it, rolled it up and tried to brown/cook them. UMMMMMM..... I'm happy to say that I now know you need other ingredients for the meatballs to stay together.

Burgundy Pork Tenderloin
This is one of the best recipes I have ever tried. It's foolproof, and so so delicious. I left out the onion & celery since I didn't really see how they would add much to the gravy, and included some onion powder to season the pork. Absolutely wonderful and easy enough to make on a weeknight. Thank you so much for this recipe!

Chicken Corn Chowder
Very tasty! I'm trying to cut calories, so I used fat free sour cream and some low fat milk instead of the cream, and it was still delicious. I also refrigerated the broth after cooking so that it was easier to skim more of the fat from the top and then strained it a second time. Thanks for the recipe!
