Best Butternut Squash Soup Ever

Excellent recipe, easy and delicious. Also works well with a handful of fresh sage tossed in during the puree process instead of using thyme.

I took these to work for our Thanksgiving feast and everyone loved them. I made a big batch and didn't take any home with me! Like other reviewers, I didn't bother with the oil and foil for baking. I used real butter, not margarine. Cut back just a tad on the sugar and vanilla, only because I knew my sweet potatoes were really sweet on their own. Great recipe - people were asking for it!

Cheddar Puff Biscuits

Very good - but I highly recommend adding a little salt and about 1 tsp baking powder to get a real puff out of it. With the salt and baking powder, this recipe is a 4-star.

Michael's Foccacia Bread

So easy and versatile! I topped mine with carmelized onions, asiago cheese and rosemary. It really does only take about an hour. You take take this recipe and make it whatever you want. Excellent for entertaining.

Golden Sweet Cornbread

Super cornbread recipe! I cut down on the sugar a bit just for personal taste, but other than that didn't change a thing and it was great. Cornbread loving husband can't get enough! Thanks!

Chicken Pot Pie VIII

I followed this recipe very closely and it came out fantastic! Like the others, I noticed that it did make a ton of filling, way more than one crust can fill. No worries though, it won't go to waste. Next time I may add some herbs and garlic, but it really is an exceptional recipe on its own. Also, the crust was very tasty and so easy - do yourself a favor and dont use a cardboard store-bought crust for this. Making your own crust is ridiculously simple.

Sausage Bean Chowder

Very good and simple! I only simmered mine for an hour and it was fine. I subbed red pepper for green pepper (hubby won't eat the green ones). I'll be making this again.

Cheesy Turnips and Carrots

This was pretty good. I could see myself using the sauce on a lot of different things. It did tend to hide the turnip rather than showcase it, but still wasn't a bad way to prepare them.

Salmon Patties I

These were very tasty! Mine had a tendency to fall apart, though, so next time I'll use two eggs. I added Old Bay to part of the mix and I liked the little kick. Also, the sour cream/lemon/dill sauce that another user suggested was EXCELLENT with these. Highly recommended. Here's a suggestion: when forming the patties, mold them against a flat surface. This helps them hold their shape when you put them in the pan. If you shape them in your hand only they will be curved and want to fall apart once they hit the flat surface of the pan. I will definately make these again!

Broccoli Fish Bake

This was...ok. I feel like this was a starting point for something bigger and better. It just didn't seem to have a whole lot of kick. If I make this again I'll be doing some heavy experimenting.

Shrimp and Crab Bisque

This was a great, easy recipe. On the advice of other reviewers, I added a little Old Bay seasoning and that made a good bisque great. The recipe didn't call for chopping the seafood but I did, as not doing so would make it kind of wierd. Next time I make this I will finely chop some of the shrimp/crab so it's not so broth vs. chunk.

Homemade Black Bean Veggie Burgers

These turned out well, although I did take some tips from other reviewers and used rolled oats instead of bread crumbs and used twice as much as called for. They still fell apart a little bit after baking, but not too bad. I think a tablespoon of cumin is too much. I'd cut that in half next time and maybe lay off the spicy stuff a little bit, but that's just me. I'll definately make this again with adjustments. Thanks for an easy, great recipe!

Baked Sweet Potato Sticks

Good, but really needs salt and pepper added to the oil mix. And carefully watch your cooking time. If your sticks are skinnier they'll burn if you leave them in for the full 40 minutes and the recipe doesn't state exactly how big the sticks should be. I also recommend flipping half way through.
