In my twenties, I cooked with beef, pork and butter a lot. In my thirties, I gained too much weight. I had to adapt my cooking. I begin to use more extra virgin olive oil, veggies and beans. Now in my fifties, I strive to keep a healthy diet with my cooking.
My favorite things to cook
One pan dishes are my favorite. It's so hot in Arizona during the summer I like to make up disher for the stove top. No oven.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Many of my best recipes begin with the basics: extra virgin olive oil, onion, celery & garlic. One pan dishes, slow cooking and soups are my family traditions.
My cooking triumphs
My chicken parmesan is to die for. The chicken is moist and sauce is flavorful. It's not fried, it's baked.
My cooking tragedies
I made a batch of beef meatballs and no one could cut in to them. Wow, what a mess. Now I make turkey meatballs that are wonderful.
