My mother started teaching me how to cook when I was about 6 or 7. I learned how to make Fried eggs and Toast for my daddy's breakfast. I was so proud to help my Mom when she was taking care of my new baby brother. Yeast and Quick Breads,Soups, almost anything Italian(Probably my favorite food nationality!) The weeks of preparation for Christmas...Fruitcakes, Cookies, Candies and gifts. My first turkey dinner for the whole family that I got ready all at the same time and perfectly made! Almost everything I cooked for the first two weeks after we moved into an apartment with an electric Range! I learned how to cook on gas and over wood fires, electricity was a whole different animal! Don't get me wrong, I'm not a pioneer or anything, just grew up with an old fashioned gas stove. Which was actually very up-to-date at that time!
